Potsdam, Germany - A drive through Potsdam HD (2013)
Potsdam (German pronunciation: [ˈpɔtsdam], Lower Sorbian Podstupim) is the capital city of the German federal state of Brandenburg. It directly borders the German capital Berlin and is part of the Berlin/Brandenburg Metropolitan Region. It is situated on the River Havel, 24 kilometres (15 miles) southwest of Berlin's city center.
Potsdam has several claims to national and international notability. In Germany, it had a similar status that Windsor has in the United Kingdom: it was the residence of the Prussian kings and the German Kaiser, until 1918. Around the city there are a series of interconnected lakes and unique cultural landmarks, in particular the parks and palaces of Sanssouci, the largest World Heritage Site in Germany. The Potsdam Conference, the major post-World War II conference between the victorious Allies, was held at another palace in the area, the Cecilienhof.
Babelsberg, in the south-eastern part of Potsdam, was a major film production studio before the war and has enjoyed increased success as a major center of European film production since the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Filmstudio Babelsberg is the oldest large-scale film studio in the world.
Potsdam developed into a centre of science in Germany from the 19th century. Today, there are three public colleges, the University of Potsdam and more than 30 research institutes in the city.

❤️Throughout my teens I suffered from depression and bulimia. I felt hopeless and didn't feel like my life was worth living. It took hitting rock bottom before I decided to get help and turn things around.
It was a long journey but every day I left more of my illness behind, and the love within me grew stronger and stronger.
This channel is my story and I hope I can help others realise that life is beautiful and that it doesn't need to be so hard. You have infinite potential and you deserve happiness ❤️

An Insider Walking Tour of Potsdam, Germany
A second Insider Tour to Potsdam brought little known Potsdam (other than the famous Potsdam Conference when the leaders divided up Europe) to life. This is one of my longest videos but it wasn't easy to edit down, sorry...
I can't remember what I did yesterday and marvel at how tour leaders can spout out dates and facts so easily...

Potsdam And Berlin - Germany Best City - Travel & Discover
Potsdam was a residence of the Prussian kings and the German Kaiser until 1918. Its planning embodied ideas of the Age of Enlightenment: through a careful balance of architecture and landscape, Potsdam was intended as a picturesque, pastoral dream which would remind its residents of their relationship with nature and reason.

Potsdam, the Capital of Brandenburg, Germany
Potsdam is the capital of Brandenburg and borders Berlin. The town has population of approx. 160,000. It is widely known for its castles and landscape as a World Heritage Site. Potsdam is more than 1000 years old. Many historic buildings are under re-construction after World War II and the period of the GDR.
For most of its recent history Potsdam has not been accessible from Berlin. The last station before the former GDR was Wannsee. Many of the buildings that are visible today have been reconstructed after the bombings of the Second World War and after the lax care of the East German Government.
Potsdam, Germany - Neues Palais (New Palace) garden, also Potsdam University
Before we did our tour of the Neues Palais (New Palace) interior in Potsdam, Germany, we strolled around the grounds & admired the various statues and the overall impact the design had on complementing this beautiful baroque palace. After our inside tour, we went across the road to stroll the grounds of Potsdam University. The university was closed, so we were not able to go inside, but enjoyed it nevertheless.
The New Palace building began in 1763, after the end of the Seven Years' War, under King Friedrich II (Frederick the Great) and was completed in 1769. It is considered to be the last great Prussian baroque palace. The Potsdam University main campus here was established in 1991 and it is one of several campuses within the city of Potsdam.
As is our custom, Ed did all of the camcorder video filming and any narrations heard, while I did all of the still photography, chose the music heard, edited everything, uploaded to You Tube, etc.

Potsdam, Germany
Potsdam is the capital and largest city of the German federal state of Brandenburg, 24 kilometres (15 miles) southwest of Berlin's city centre.
Berlin was the official capital of Prussia and later of the German Empire, but the court remained in Potsdam, where many government officials settled.
In 1914, the Emperor Wilhelm II signed the Declaration of War in the Neues Palais. The city lost its status as a second capital in 1918, when Wilhelm II abdicated at the end of World War I.
The Cecilienhof Palace was the scene of the Potsdam Conference from 17 July, to 2 August 1945, at which the victorious Allied leaders (Harry S. Truman; Winston Churchill; and Joseph Stalin) met to decide the future of Germany and postwar Europe in general.
