Michigan Girl-Potter Park Zoo 2016
Video and pictures from my family trip to Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, MI. It's a great zoo, not too big and not too small with a great collection of animals. The only bummer was not seeing the moose in their new exhibit (picture of the waterfall) because they were staying cool in their barn. I know there's currently no music. As soon as I have some free time I will totally make this better:)

Caring for Alaskan Moose after a flood in Potter Park Zoo
Our zoo keepers are incredible at the zoo! After an April snow/rain storm in Michigan, the zoo was left close due to flooding in the parking lot. All the animals exhibits were not flooded, but the moose exhibit had some extra water, which they seem to enjoy! Our keepers took extra care in getting the moose their bags of grain to the barn without water on them. The barn was built on the highest elevation in the exhibit to keep the moose comfortable in times like this. Thanks to our incredible keepers who work so hard to keep the animals safe!

Chillin with the Animals: Lion (Potter Park Zoo)
Our young male lion has to figure out how to get the bone out of the ice. The bone was frozen in two 5 gallon buckets of water. We figured between the bone and the water, it weighs around 80 pounds.
