MYKONOS ( GREECE ) PART 2 | MYKONOS WINDMILLS | MYKONOS ISLAND | GREEK ISLAND | GREECE DESTINATION
“The windmills are best seen during golden hour, preferably sunset. Should you opt to rise early and visit the mills at sunrise, you’ll likely get fewer people within your photos. However, sunset presents the real draw as the sun sets on the horizon of the Aegean Sea, producing beautiful colours and a sky to remember for days and weeks to come…” - source ( google )
MYKONOS | GREECE
An affluent island destination, Mykonos is a part of the Cycladic group, pitched in the middle of the Aegean sea. While Santorini is a laid-back travel venue, its buzzing twin, Mykonos swifts between both the rhythms - calmness and energy. Also, popular amongst the gay community, Mykonos is a paradise in every sense. There is a summer party atmosphere with youngsters and the rich and famous touring the town. And, there is a sense of serenity despite the raging night-life. I mean, what's better than an island which gives you the best of both?

Massive Bronze Age City Discovered Underwater in Greece
Massive Bronze Age City Discovered Underwater in Greece
We often see stories about buildings that have been left behind and forgotten. This can be due to nuclear disasters, job loss, or other sad circumstances. Recently there was a group of divers made up from experts from Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities, University of Geneva, and the Swiss School of Archaeology at Kiladha Bay. They were searching the waters near the Peloponnese Peninsula which is just south of Athens, Greece. They were searching for evidence of the oldest village in Europe. There is a rumor out there that there is a village that dates back to 8,000 years ago, but they have not been able to locate it. Rather than finding the village they were looking for, these divers came across an underwater Bronze Age city which has long been submerged in the Aegean Sea. The Bronze Age started in Europe around 2300 BC. Here is a glimpse at what these divers found.

Mykonos island, where tradition, nightlife and glamour live side by side
The Greek Island, Mykonos, flaunts its double personality the moment you set eyes on its coastline. Basking in year-round sunshine, its rugged rocky landscape blends seamlessly with smooth sandy beaches. In the distance, undulating hills host the island’s iconic windmills turning in symphony with the seasonal winds that have branded Mykonos ‘island of the winds’.
On appearance, traditional white-washed villages seem untouched by time but delve deeper into their maze of cobbled streets and you’ll find cosmopolitan bars, exclusive boutiques, and gourmet restaurants. High-energy nightlife gives way to calming, picture-perfect beaches where it’s easy to find your inner peace.
And travel back through the centuries at Mykonos’ archaeological sites where you’ll encounter the Sanctuary of Apollo and many other fascinating ancient relics that reveal the island’s varied past. Then explore traditional villages such as Ano Mera where the pure white walls of Panagia Tourliani monastery appear crafted from the landscape.

never-ending story(357) - delos, mykonos, greece 3 sep 2016
WHITE=BLACK
============
the birthplace of apollo and artemis, delos island, a small island off mykonos(another greek island), is a very important archaeological site in the cyclades archipelago. the complex relationships among the greek pantheon of gods, and the comedies and tragedies of their stories ring out loud in this deserted ruins of the island.
the winds were very strong that day.
it not only blew his cap off many a times, it also blew him back into an era many years ago in hsinchu, a small town(then) in taiwan, with a nick-name of the wind-town, where he worked.
that time, taiwan and mainland china still held on to the one-china policy, though taiwan by then already lost the impetus to launch a war against the mainland and liberate it.
he said, it's a pity that the mainland and taiwan have 2 governments. though historically, there were one country. as time goes by, people here will forget history and go their own way.
she said, what's so good about remembering history? in the middle east, israel/palestian problem arose because the israelites read too much into history.
she continued, there's no wrong or right. that's how things in this world go. there's no black and white. white can be black. it all depends on who looks at it.
what? how can white be black?
ok. let me prove it to you. let's play a game of synonym - words with similar meaning.
ok.. how?
i open up dictionary.com, choose synonym/thesaurus instead of definition of the word. type a word WHITE, and press enter, you will find a list of words with similar mean to WHITE. in this case there are 2 words, SILVER and SILVERY. click on SILVERY, you will get a list of words with similar meaning to SILVERY. click on the word BRILLIANT, and so on... you will subsequently get BRIGHT, LUMINOUS, LUCID, CLEAR, FAIR, CANDID, BLUNT, DULL, DIM, DARK.... and voila BLACK.
so WHITE has the same meaning of BLACK!!! you can do this to all other words with opposite meanings, and find that they actually have the same meaning.
wow, you are genius. so everything in this world is neutral, no right or wrong, everything is a fair game.
yup, like the tall grass, though of unequal heights, when the wind blows across it, all stoops down; the taller ones and the shorter ones all level up in height. like what the XUN GUA of YIJING trying to portray
XUN(representsingWIND) : submit fate, hiding, ambush, covert, progress slowly, enter
in ancient china, XUN(WIND) signifies equality, fairness, as alluded in ZHUANGZI's 'QIWULUN' (theory of everything), in which it stated the wind represents the agent that would make everything equal.
57. XUN GUA
XUN, smooth-sailing in small matters. going forward and meeting VIP's are auspicious.
1st-6: in a delimma to advance or retreat. military people who persevere would prevail.
- why the GUA starts with 1st YAO on military? the world would only come a state of equality when everything is wiped out by a nuclear war. and that big mushroom cloud that generates the earth-flattening winds that sweep and incinerate everything in its path is so familiar in those apocalyptic movies. this is a BIG warning to human race to persevere, to refrain from pressing on that button.
9-2: hide under the bed, like performing a seance by the shaman. auspicious, no guilt.
- after the detonation, you need to hide...
9-3: kneel down with sadness and worry. troublesome.
- pray that it's over soon
6-4: no more regret. brought back a lot of preys after a hunting trip, enough for 3 types of offerings(to serve the guests, to offer to the emperor, and the gods and spirits)
- it's finally over. but, the day after, how come so fast got animals to hunt? actually it literally tells a story of bombing the human race back to the stone age of hunting/gathering subsistence.
9-5: he who perseveres prevails, and no regret. everything goes well, no start but there's an ending. 3 days before(DING) and after(GUI) GENG day are auspicious days.
- history has no start, but ends with big clouds. 3+1+3=7. 7days, the world is remade again.
top-9: hide under the bed, loose his properties and his axe(power). he who persevere prevails.
- everything has to start from zilch - the absolute state of equality.

10 wild days in Greece | Mykonos boat trip
Mykonos including a stroll on Paradise Beach
Mykonos is my favorite Greek Island of the four that I’ve visited so far. In part because of the amazing energy, the great beaches, sun soaked blue and white buildings, walking on the stone walkways of the Chora labyrinth, all while enjoying the warmth of the Aegean Sea.
Italiano

Sailing the Greek Islands: Serifos, Syros, Mikonos (Greece - Part 2)
This is the second part of our sailing trip in the Cyclades Islands in Greece. We visited the islands of Serifos and Syros, and then finished our trip on the island of Mykonos. Mykonos is one of the best islands to visit in the Greek Islands. But the island of Serifos and island of Syros, although less well-known are also some of the most beautiful islands in the Cyclades.
A big thanks to Islandsailing.gr for making this trip possible. By the way, neither Island Sailing nor the Harmony Boutique Hotel in Mykonos are sponsoring this video. We paid to charter our boat and to stay at this hotel. But they provided excellent customer service from the beginning to the end and we wanted to thank them for their help.

Dreamy villa in Mykonos
HOUSE FOR SALE IN MYKONOS (more information: info@epreal.gr, property code: 37249)
The house is on the well-known Cycladic Island of Mykonos situated in the crystal clear waters of the blue Aegean Archipelago. Since the early 1930's, Mykonos has been the favorite holiday destination of the smart Athenian set. The harmony and the aesthetics both of Cycladic town planning and the architecture perfectly embodied in the port/town of Mykonos, deeply impressed Le Corbusier when he first visited the island, at the end of that same decade. Here, as in every corner in Greece, a glorious ancient site is found just a short boat trip away. It is the island of Delos, renowned for the exquisite Lion's Way and the plethora of ruins of the ancient Treasuries of all the important cities during Hellenistic and Roman periods. Delos, also referred to as the island of light, was dedicated to the sun god Apollo. This is most apt in view of the fact that the brilliance of the degree of luminescence found in Mykonos/Delos complex is one of the brightest on earth.
Today Mykonos still remains a favorite choice both for the discerning traveler and the young set, because of the amazing clarity of the sea and its many beaches; the special Cycladic atmosphere the islands exudes and the energy it radiates; the large number and wide variety of excellent restaurants found both in and away from the port, all of which have a subdued sophistication from the simpler seaside tavernas to the more subtly chic restaurants; the wonderful beach bars, some coming alive at sunset, others, at sunrise. In all, one can enjoy all or any one of the many aspects this vibrant island has to offer. A holiday on Mykonos could be either, a quiet rest engulfed by nature or, at the other extreme, round-the-clock partying and socializing, depending on personal tastes and preferences.
The house is situated on the west side of the island about a mile and a half to the north of the town of Mykonos on a hillside with a commanding view of picturesque Mykonos framed by those celebrated windmills. It has, as well, a panoramic view of the blue Aegean and the surrounding islands that is breathtaking. As the house faces west, it has the wonderful advantage of permitting the enjoyment of the famous Mykonian sunsets, that at times are idyllic and at others, dramatic as the sun sinks into the sea each evening.
Architecturally, the house has been built according to the model of late eighteenth and nineteenth century Cycladic town house of the haute bourgeoisie, in other words, of the rich and successful sea-faring captains of those times. It is altogether a Greek house. The decoration is elegant and simple, almost minimal and has been extremely well thought out. A consistent style has been followed through out and it is obvious that aesthetic concerns are a priority. It carries with it the simplicity and austerity of the surrounding Cycladic landscape. In consequence, there is nothing superfluous or dispensable in the house. The various ornaments of crystal and glass used to decorate the house have been expressly used to emulate and recall the luminescence of Cycladic light. After all, when on Mykonos one inevitably finds oneself immersed in this all-pervading luminescence.
On the top floor -- and entrance -- there are the reception rooms, sitting/dining room with a handsome, high barrel-vaulted ceiling; a second sitting room, accessed from the terrace; kitchen and guest W.C. On the large terrace there are outdoor seating areas and an outdoor dining area with a barbeque. There is a large heated pool with changing rooms, shower and W.C.
With regard to the accommodation on this floor, there is the large master bedroom, a dressing room, a small study and an imaginatively decorated ensuite bathroom (the only instance where extravagance or the extreme was permitted in the house). The view from the master suite is wonderful. On the lower floor there are four large bedrooms all of which lead onto an enormous deck/terrace, and have the most extraordinary view. They all have a dressing room and a large ensuite bathroom. There are two further smaller bedrooms, each with an ensuite shower for the staff. These rooms do not have a view but look onto an inner garden-court.
There is also a house adjoining the main house, with a sitting room, two bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, kitchen and a very nice view.
