Taiwan’s Largest Solar Power Station
The Ministry of Economic Affairs launched a project to build a floating solar power station in Taiwan at Changhua Coastal Industrial Park. Once complete, it will be Taiwan''s largest solar power station by area. The station will cost 16.3 billion Taiwan dollars, which will be shared by three investors. It will occupy 347 hectares and have a total power capacity of 320 megawatts. The government says that in two years, the station''s annual power generation could reach as high as 436 million kilowatt hours, making the No. 1 solar power station in Taiwan.

Sharing Green Life
Pi-Tang, a form of farm pond which ancestors in Taoyuan, Taiwan, excavated for water storage, had functioned as irrigation water resource shared by local villages for centuries.
However, due to industrialization and urbanization, the farm ponds become useless and their cultural value are being lost, causing their decline in quantity in the past few decades, faced with the fate of being filled up or abandoned.
Inspired by the farm ponds' function of water storage and irrigation system. With the concept as the core, we create a new type of community that meets the needs of modern life, and use small hydro generators to generate electricity power. Residents share the electricity power, economic and leisure benefits. The sharing system not only retains the historical significance and cultural value of Pi-Tang but also represent the new face of it.
埤塘再生與共享傳承
台灣桃園的埤塘是先民以人工的方式挖掘儲水，做為聚落共享的灌溉水源，數量曾經達到了數千個，而有「千塘之鄉」的美名，近年來工業化及都市化的影響，埤塘的原始功能逐漸弱化，原本作為聚落生活核心的文化價值也漸被遺忘，且面臨荒廢、被填平的命運。
此設計以埤塘「儲蓄-共享」概念為核心打造符合當代需求的小型聚落，居民共享水流發電之電力、溫室的作物利潤與休閒效益，共享模式與文化都保留埤塘存在百年的歷史意義、還原聚落生活中的人情交流，且符合綠色生活的現代趨勢，以全新面貌呈現。

The Council of Agriculture has spent seven years cultivating a new variety of Taiwan country chicken. Their pride and joy, the Fenghui Hsiaying Red-Brand country chicken, has a much higher egg lay rate than most breeds. It''s also bigger, which means more meat for the kitchen table.This feast was cooked up using a new breed of chicken, the Fenghui Hsiaying Red-Brand country chicken. The meat is chewier and more succulent than the average broiler. One bite of a drumstick is all you need to be able to tell the difference. Compared to the meat of other chicken breeds, this meat is springier. Consumers like it more. This new breed is also great at egg production. Flocks of other country chickens have an egg lay rate of about 50%, but the Red-Brand breed can surpass 70%. In addition, these chickens are bred to grow at a more consistent rate so that farmers can sell them in one go, drastically cutting the risk of bird flu infections.Huang Chin-chengCOA Deputy MinisterBird flu infection is easily spread by the comings and goings of vehicles during chicken transport. Plum rains replenish Shihmen Reservoir to 80% capacity
Plum rains have soaked Taiwan and given a dramatic boost to its reservoirs. Water officials say Shihmen Reservoir is at 80% capacity, enough for household and industrial use until at least the end of June. More precipitation is expected as plum rain season gets underway. Officials say a water supply shortage is unlikely in the near term. It''s plum rain season. Round after round of downpours have replenished Shihmen Reservoir, sending water up its yellow sandstone embankment.
