Power Plant Mall was established in 2000 as a comfort and convenience offered to Rockwell Center’s residents, with only a dozen of stores upon launch, marking Rockwell’s first retail milestone - the creation of “Fashionable Manila.” Today, Power Plant has expanded to over a hundred stores, catering to the needs and wants of various individuals, both residents and guests, who have come to regard the mall as their second home.
With the expansion of Rockwell Center, Power Plant Mall grows simultaneously, adapting to the market’s changing lifestyles and evolving tastes. After almost two decades of providing quality service and luxury, Power Plant has take on a new and exciting venture as it steps on to the digital shopping platform through the restoration and modernization of POWERPLANTMALL.COM.

Power Plant Mall has 4 levels of shopping and dining including the lower ground level. Some of the stores and products in Power Plant are exclusive to the mall, like the “7 for All Mankind” jeans, the Harajuku Lovers line by Gwen Stefani, and the first Michael Kors boutique in the country. The Power Plant Mall has an avenue of stalls that sell vintage apparel and accessories, locally designed swimsuits, bags, hand painted bangles and shelves of shoes.

The mall also provides booklovers their sanctuary, with book shops such as Power Books and National Bookstore.

Shopping at the Power Plant is a lot calmer and less hectic than in other malls as it is less accessible to the general public.
Aside from shopping, Power Plant also has its share of bars and restaurants including Draft Gastropub, Mamu, Celadon, Ganso Shabuway, Via Mare, Barcino’s, Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen, 8 Cuts Burger Blends and much more.

Some of the restaurants are located outside the mall, dine al fresco, it’s a great way to enjoy the Philippines tropical weather.
Rockwell Center, the company's flagship project, sits on a 15.5-hectare site in Makati City. It is strategically located between the three major commercial business districts of Makati City, Bonifacio Global City and Ortigas. The Center has been developed into a self-contained, mixed use community consisting of seven highrise upscale residential towers, three office buildings, a lifestyle shopping mall, a city club, and the Ateneo business graduate school.

Rockwell Land Corporation is one of the premier real estate develpment companies in the Philippines. It was formed 1995, after the shutdown of the thermal power plant, by the Lopez Group. Its primary task was to transform the old thermal plant property into a high-end commercial business district.

Power Plant Mall is an upscale indoor shopping mall in Makati City, Philippines. It is the anchor establishment of Rockwell Center, a mixed-use area north of the Makati Central Business District on the Pasig River waterfront across Mandaluyong. It is one of two shopping centers developed and managed by Rockwell Land Corporation, a subsidiary of Lopez Holdings Corporation, in Metro Manila. It was designed by Toronto-based architecture firm, Design International.[1]

The four-level shopping mall is located at Rockwell Drive corner Estrella Street in the Makati Poblacion village. It is part of the Rockwell complex, which includes the One Rockwell West Tower, the ninth tallest building in the metropolis. It has a gross floor area of 41,000 square metres (440,000 sq ft) and is anchored by Rustan's Marketplace, a six screen Power Plant Cinema, and a mix of high-end tenants such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Hackett London, Michael Kors, DKNY, Rolex and J. Lindeberg. It also contains several dining outlets, the Rockwell Tent events place, and three levels of basement parking.

The mall can be reached from EDSA via Estrella and from the Makati CBD via Kalayaan Avenue. The nearest MRT station is Guadalupe Station on J.P. Rizal Avenue and EDSA.

Expansion of the mall
Rockwell Land is expanding the Power Plant Mall by adding another 5,700 square meters of additional leasable space and two VIP cinema theaters. Construction is expected to start by the middle of 2015 for completion by 2017. [3]

The ground and second levels (R1 & R2) of the expansion opened on December 2017. Cinemas 7 and 8 at Level R3 opened in January 2018.

Power Plant Mall was built in December 2000 on the former site of the 130-megawatt Rockwell Thermal Plant owned by Manila Electric Railroad and Light Company. The thermal power plant, named after the company's first president James Chapman Rockwell, operated between 1950 and the early 1970s when it was hit by a fire. In 1994, after protests from Makati residents against its reopening, the plant was decommissioned and subsequently converted by its owners into a modern commercial district. Construction on the shopping mall began in 1998 and was completed and opened on December 26, 2000.

This area is one of the best places to retire in the Philippines, it is closed almost to everything you don’t need to drive you almost have it all from Grocery stores to Shopping Centers to High Tech Cinemas and to exclusive schools for your kids

Marking the expansion of Rockwell Center will be The Proscenium at Rockwell, a 3.6 hectare mixed-used development which will stand in the property formerly known as the Colgate-Palmolive (Philippines) headquarters. It is an ongoing luxury development by Rockwell Land Corporation. It stands with four residential towers, office tower, and retail designed by architect Carlos Ott. It consists of residential, retail, office, amenity and cultural spaces. It will have four residential towers, namely the Kirov, Sakura, Lincoln and Lorraine. It was franchised to the Philippines by Chef Jeroen Van Straten’s Benmark Group Holdings which opened the first branch at the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell Makati in May 2008 and has expanded to more than 35 branches in Philippines.

Today we revisit their first branch and share with you some of our
