Prairie Mountain Hike in Kananaskis (4K) | Journey Alberta
In today's video I do the Prairie Mountain hike located near Bragg Creek in Kananaskis! The hike takes my friend Jesse and I all the way to the summit, and is 3 kilometers long with over 700 meters of elevation gain. This is also the first hiking video I get to use my new Ikan DS2-A stabilizer on, and I felt it did not disappoint. For more Alberta hiking videos make sure to subscribe by clikcing here:

Prairie Mountain Hike, Kananaskis, Nov 16 - 2016
Just a quick trip up Prairie mountain today. 700 meters elevation gain. 2 hours round trip as I ran down the mountain. Only the 2nd solo trip I've gone on. Very enjoyable! Saw a moose on the way in as well. He's in the video.

Cat Creek Falls Hike in Kananaskis | Journey Alberta
In this video I travel out to the Highwood section of Kananaskis to do the Cat Creek Falls hike! It's a relatively short trail, but still offers great views of the valley, a waterfall, and some interpretive signs that talk about the logging and coal mining history of the area. This hike is definitely up there for me as one of the hikes to take friends/family from out of town on, since it's a well rounded hike in terms of what they will see. It's also a family friendly hike too!

Prairie Mountain Summit, Winter Hike, Alberta
March 8/2019
Today we will be hiking up to the top of Prairie Mountain. The hike is 6.4 kilometers and has an elevation gain of 666 meters. I am hiking with my friend Denis. This hike is not so much about the distance, but is all about the elevation gain. It was tough going up, but well worth it when you get to the top. An added bonus hiking this trail in the winter, is when coming down you can slide on your butt. Be careful if you do this though, as you gain speed really fast.
This is my 29th video. Thank you very much for watching. If you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up. If you would like to see my other videos, Subscribe to my channel. New videos weekly. CHEERS
Thank you,

Sunday, April 14, 2019 - first hike of the season 2019 - Bragg Creek area.
Despite the mix conditions of snow, mud and ice, we managed to get to the windy top of the Prairie Mountain. It took us almost 4 hours but we didn't rush considering some challenging sections. On this day, spikes would have been definitely helpful but we did it!

Nihahi Creek: Drone View | Explore Alberta | Best of Kananaskis | Calgary Hikes
Nihahi Creek is a good half-day hike starting at Little Elbow Campground in Kananskis Country. It takes you to a truly unique place, as you climb through the smoothed out contours of an old creek bed, and below stand in the empty basins from waterfalls bygone. During my last bikepacking tour through Kananskis, I captured this drone view of the amazing place in Kananaskis Country, Alberta.
Prairie Mountain, Kananaskis
A quick tour of one of my favorite hikes in Kananaskis: Prairie Mountain.
Summary...
~3.8 km to summit with ~750 meter elevation gain. Probably considered moderate difficulty, takes most hikers between 1.5 - 2 hours to summit and less to hike back down.
