Prairie Theatre Exchange Presents ELLE
An epic tale of survival from Canada’s distant past
Based on a true story and adapted from the Governor General’s Award-winning novel, Elle chronicles the ordeals and adventures of a young French woman deliberately marooned on a desolate island off the coast of Newfoundland in 1542. Sometimes harrowing and often funny, Elle brilliantly reinvents the beginnings of this country’s narrative through bears (both real and spirit) and the embracing of one’s environment.

Spin Debuts at PTE This Week, Runs Until Jan. 31
Spin - which is playing at Prairie Theatre Exchange - tells the story of Annie Londonderry, who - in 1895 - became the first woman to ride her bike around the world.
Theatre maker and singer/songwriter evalyn parry plays Londonderry in the show which features regular instruments such as the cello, violin, viola and guitar, but it also features the bicycle as a percussion instrument, played by Brad Hart.
Classic 107's Stephen Burns sat down with Hart to find how how exactly he brought the bicycle to life.

Pyramids On The Prairie: WInnipeg's Exchange District
Pyramids on the Prairie, a one-hour documentary, featured the history and architecture of the Winnipeg Exchange Districtone of the most intact historically important commercial districts on the continent. The program was awarded an Preservation Award of Excellence by the Winnipeg Heritage Foundation. This Prairie Public classic was originally broadcast in 1994.
