Estonia has so much to offer! On our journey we made this exciting Drone Flight to give you an impression of the beautiful landscape of Estonia (Estland). We started in Tallinn and made a road trip to Prangli Island, Soomaa Nationalpark, Jägala Waterfall, Rakvere and Lahemaa Nationalpark. Then back to Tallinn and home to Germany.

Winter STORM in Tallinn | Baltic Sea | Estonia
Typical winter storm in Tallinn, big waves crashing over Merivälja pier. Wind speed 25m/s. Winter has very changeable weather, and there is usually snow between December and March. In warm winters the snow arrives at the end of December or the start of January (with maybe the odd snowy period earlier), occurring and melting rapidly. In a cold winter the snow can be seen at the end of October or in November and stay until April. Sometimes the deepest snowcover is in November or December (e.g. early January of 2010 set up new snowcover record – 62 cm or 24.41 inches), sometimes even in March and April.
Winter is often windy and the temperature depends on the synoptic situation, which means irregularity and that there is no significant daily pattern like in summer. The arrival of a warm air mass can see the morning temperature rise to above 0 °C or a cold air mass arriving can cause it to fall below –10 °C during the middle of day. From November to January, the sun has no clear effect on air temperatures, except on very cold and calm days.
A winter storm is an event in which varieties of precipitation are formed that only occur at low temperatures, such as snow or sleet, or a rainstorm where ground temperatures are low enough to allow ice to form (i.e. freezing rain). In temperate continental climates, these storms are not necessarily restricted to the winter season, but may occur in the late autumn and early spring as well.

Part 2 of our Estonian road trip takes us to the longest zip-line in Estonia, as well as dog sledding without snow. We visit the Kiviõli Adventure Centre to fly down the 600m long zip-lone, the longest in the Baltic States. We also go dog sledding with Alaskan malamutes through the wild Estonian forest.

Frozen wonderland! Valaste Waterfall in Estonia gets winter white look after storm
Valaste Waterfall, the highest waterfall in Estonia, has turned into an icy wonderland. After a storm last week, the spray is freezing up and ice formations have encased the trees around. Valaste Waterfall, with a height of 30 meters, is situated on the Ontika Limestone Cliff. It is a popular tourist attraction.
