Paramaribo (Suriname), Jun 20 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind, who is on his three-nation visit to Greece, Suriname and Cuba, received a ceremonial reception at Presidential Palace in Paramaribo. He met President of Suriname, Dési Bouterse. He is the first Indian President to visit the country. President Kovind along with his wife Savita Kovind also garlanded the statue of 'Baba and Mai'.

Paramaribo is de hoofdstad van Suriname. De stad is gelegen aan de westoever van de rivier de Suriname, ongeveer 10 kilometer van zee. De stad Paramaribo heeft samen met de directe omgeving de bestuurlijke status van een district.

Paramaribo es la capital de Surinam. La ciudad se encuentra en el distrito de Paramaribo, a orillas del río Surinam, aproximadamente a 15 kilómetros de la costa del océano Atlántico. La población de la ciudad ronda los 250.000 habitantes, pero el área metropolitana alberga a casi 400.000 habitantes. Sus pobladores suelen referirse a ella como Par'bo.
