Funchal is the largest city, the municipal seat and the capital of Portugal's Autonomous Region of Madeira. The city is the 6th largest city in Portugal, and has been the capital of Madeira for more than five centuries. Quinta Magnolia Gardens in Funchal, Madeira
presents: The Quinta Magnolia Gardens in Funchal.
Covering over 40,000 square metres of mature trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns, Quinta Magnolia was once the British Country Club. Today, no longer the exclusive preserve of the affluent British expatriate community, the grounds are now in the guardianship of the Regional Government of Madeira and is open to all.
So, if you feel up to a game of tennis, or the children want to splash about in the pool, or maybe you just wish to enjoy a lazy stroll around the grounds in the afternoon sunshine - then the Quinta Magnolia is well worth a visit.

The establishment of the park Bird Began in 1987 by the Swedish company que planned to install in the Madeira Island a garden of exotic birds.
The garden was positioned in an available area at the Quinta do Bom Sucesso, being inaugurated and opened to the public on 1st of October 1988 and its management handed the swedish company.
Failure to comply with The Commitments made under by contract the administrating company led the plenary of the Regional Government of Madeira to delegate the management of the bird park garden to the Regional Economy Secretariat, Secretariat que at the team supervised the Madeira Botanical Gardens botanical garden . Currently, Bay Bird Park is integrated in the Regional Forestry Directorate of the Regional Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources.
The Bird Park has an area of Approximately 1 ha and is located on the southern most part of the Madeira Botanical Garden - Engineer Rui Vieira botanical garden. This garden of exotic birds is an attractive and picturesque area que is available to the general public and where the beauty and extravagance of birds from the most diverse places on earth can be appreciated. We highlight the macaws, parrots, cockatoos, Loric of the tropical islands of Asia, Australian parakeets and conures Among others.
The areas surrounding the bird cages are occupied with exotic plants and lawns in order to integrate the birds in an environment the natural the possible.
In 1995 the bird park was improved with the construction of a free flying aviary, with an area Exceeding 300 m2. Inside the aviary, several gardens Were created and maintained in order to place the birds in a more natural environment.
