On The Move - Prince Albert
On May 7, 2014, the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society's On The Move campaign brought its giant floor map of the Canadian boreal forest to The Forest Centre at Prince Albert's Innovation Place. Forestry experts were on hand throughout the day to talk about the importance of Canada's boreal forest.
ABOUT THE CBFA
Canada's boreal forest is one of the largest and most ecologically significant ecosystems on the planet and the source of supply for one of Canada's most significant natural resource sectors.
Recognizing this, forest companies and environmental organizations in Canada came together to create the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement.
This global precedent integrates economic and environmental values to ensure a sustainable future for our boreal forest, our natural habitat, our forestry industry and all those whose livelihoods rely upon it.
The following are signatories to the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement:
Environmental Organizations (ENGOs):
Canadian Boreal Initiative, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS), David Suzuki Foundation, ForestEthics, The Nature Conservancy, The Pew Charitable Trusts and Ivey Foundation.
Forestry Companies:
Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc., AV Group, Canfor Corporation, Canfor Pulp Limited Partnership, Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company, Conifex Timber Inc., Daishowa-Marubeni International Ltd., Fortress Paper Ltd., Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Ltd., LP Canada Ltd., Mercer International, Millar Western Forest Products Ltd., Resolute Forest Products, Tembec Inc., Tolko Industries Ltd., West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd., and Weyerhaeuser Company Limited — all represented by the Forest Products Association of Canada, which is also a signatory. Kruger Inc. is also a signatory.

1936 Grey Owl and Little Brother (Beaver)
1936 produced 16mm film of Grey Owl and his beaver friends. The story of Grey Owl is fascinating, search it in Wikipedia or Canadian Encyclopedia.
Albert Farkas and his son used to travel around northern Saskatchewan in the 1940s-50s showing their collection of films from many sources, Canadian and other countries' travelogues and documentaries and some home movies, newsreels, sports events, and some Hollywood films .
Some years ago Albert's son donated what was left of what they used to show around the Province to the Niagara Artists Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario. December 2016 I recently transferred some of the many films the Centre has collected over the years.

Adventure Plein Air Painting - Algonquin Park, Ontario: Oxtongue River with Men Who Paint
Learn about painting with Canadian landscape painters Men Who Paint (Greg Hargarten, Can Forrester, Paul Trottier, Roger Trottier and Ken Van Rees) as they paint the Oxtongue River near Algonquin Provincial Park in Northern Ontario and explore the area that inspired Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven.
Since their formation in 2007, Men Who Paint have embraced plein air painting. Inspired by the work and adventurous spirit of the early Canadian painters, the group, until recently, has spent most of their painting time outdoors. Their travels have seen them at many Canadian locations, including Alberta's Banff National Park and Peter Lougheed Provincail Park, Ontario’s Algonquin Park, Yukon’s Ivvavik National Park, Saskatchewan's Prince Albert National Park, Emma Lake, La Ronge and Cypress Hills.
