Welcome to my vlog from Bulgaria! I spend a couple of week living as a Digital Nomad in Sofia and absolutely loved it. We did some amazing activities and of course I filmed them for you! We did the Rila Seven Lakes hike, visited Plovdiv for the weekend, checked out a free food tour in Sofia, saw all the main Sofia sights, and (my personal highlight) went to see the Rila Monastery. Thank you so much for watching, and of course don't forget to subscribe!

↣ Are you a full time Youtuber?
I work full time online as a 'Digital Nomad' which means I get to travel the world with my fiance (Ed) and not be tied to living in any specific country. I do Freelance PR, teach courses on Udemy (check out my profile here - and of course blogging and Youtube.
↣ When did you start blogging?
I created my blog in 2012 when I was living in America. I was thrifting so much that I wanted to start sharing my outfits online and inspiring other people to look in charity shops. Now it's become all about my Digital Nomad journey and what it's like to be a female nomad.
↣ Where's your accent from?
I'm from the South of England but I currently live out of a suitcase travelling all over the world.
↣ Where is your favourite place in the world?
I fell deeply in love with Gili Air when we visited as a paradise getaway, but Chiang Mai is my favourite place to live. Plus of course, there's no place like home (Dorset in England).

Bulgaria Road Trip: Sofia to Plovdiv Travel Day | Singing Fountains & Liberation Hill
My Bulgaria Road Trip starts in Sofia. After collecting my car rental from Hertz the drive to Plovdiv only takes about 1 hour and 3 minutes so after driving to Plovdiv I still have plenty of time to start exploring the city of Plovdiv in the evening, climbing liberation hill for sunset, looking at the to see the Liberation Monument and watching the colourful singing fountains of Plovdiv.
My next video in this Travel Bulgaria Road Trip series will be published on Thursday so don't forget to subscribe and click on the bell notification if you want to see more of my Bulgaria Road Trip.

2 UNESCO SITES - Rila Monastery & Boyana Church | Sofia Bulgaria Travel Vlog
We visit Rila Monastery & Boyana Church, both Unesco World Heritage Sites, on a Traventuria tour from Sofia in Bulgaria...⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
Visiting 2 Unesco World Heritage Sites in one travel vlog didn't seem like it would be possible! (but it is) We'd heard so much about both Rila Monastery & Boyana Church and getting to them both from Sofia, but the public transport in Bulgaria was going to prove a little tricky.
Luckily we found Traventuria Tours, who offer one tour in on the same day of travel. First stop is Boyana Church, only 30 minutes drive from Sofia center. Then off into the Rila Mountains to visit the Rila Monastery - which is possibly one of the most amazing UNESCO sites we've seen anywhere in the world. Check out Traventuria Bulgaria for all the tours they offer here:
As far as tours from Sofia are concerned, this tour to Rila Monastery & Boyana Church in the same day was an absolute winner and saved us hours of research. Monasterio de Rila will always hold a special place in our travel memories, hopefully that comes across in the vlog.

With out a doubt our favourite day in Plovdiv and our most enjoyable travel vlog in a long time. Turns out Bulgarian wine is sensational.

Our first impressions traveling in Sofia Bulgaria
On our very first day exploring Sofia, Bulgaria we encounter many street performers, a mob of football fans and an angry looking guard. Bulgaria is a country we visited on a whim. Having already spent nearly 10 days in Istanbul, Turkey we had just under a week before my Mom arrived. While sitting down and exploring different options to consider (including traveling more in Turkey) we decided to hop on an overnight train bound for Sofia.

Sometimes visiting a destination without much prior research is rather refreshing.
You visit a place with a fresh set of eyes and very few (if any) preconceived expectations.
Our first day exploring Sofia was full of quirky surprises and random encounters.
I couldn't believe the amount of street performers we noticed while randomly roaming around the downtown core.
From male singers belting out throaty tunes to grown adults dressed up as birds on stilts, it was certainly an eclectic combination of performers.
One of my personal favorites was a man wearing a formal suit without a head. Audrey had fun posing with him hamming it up for the camera and camcorder.
As we continued to randomly wander around (we originally started out with a free walking tour but we quickly decided we'd rather do our own thing) we noticed a loud noise coming from a distance.
At first, I thought it was some kind of political rally as I heard sounds of bangs, shouts and random explosions
However, as the mob drew closer I noticed it appeared to be peaceful.
Young men with shaved heads hollered in excitement as they saluted in the air.
It appeared this was some kind of a skinhead Neo-Nazi rally.
Suddenly it dawned upon me that this was most likely a football celebration, which I later was able to confirm.
Irregardless, it was exhilarating (and also scary) to suddenly be caught up in it all.
As if our day wasn't filled with enough random moments, the funniest encounter was still yet to come.
Outside stood a male guard dressed in formal attire wearing a thick winter Ushanka (winter hat).
As I stood from a distance, I used my tiny camcorder to zoom into his face.
With a scowl reminiscent to the wicked witch's guards in the Movie Wizard of Oz, his shifty eyes moved from side to side.
This was hardly the stoic representation of the typical guards I'm used to seeing in Canada or England.
Overall, what a day. From quirky performances to mobs to disgruntled guards, Sofia certainly left a distinct first impression upon me that I'm sure I won't forget anytime soon.

$16 FLIGHT TO GREECE | Sofia to Athens | Bulgaria Travel Vlog 2018
Cheapest flight ever! Today we travel and vlog our way from Sofia to Athens for $16! Bulgaria to Greece is strangely cheap and...⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
Greece has been on our list to visit for so long now, so we're excited to be heading off from Bulgaria (which was such a dope place to travel) and head from Sofia to Athens. We're bound for the islands, but exploring Athens a little is sure to happen.
Bulgaria was one of the biggest surprises of our trip so far, while Sofia was amazing for the amount of things to do we really found ourselves leaning towards Plovdiv as the best spot in Bulgaria.
Either way, Greece is next and after this trip from Sofia to Athens we're heading to Mykonos and Santorini and can't wait to share more of the content and travel vlogs we make there.

Live City Walking Tour from Sofia, Bulgaria + Weird Facts ????????
It's a lovely winter Sunday in the capital of Bulgaria! Check out this live tour of the city center after I went on the Free Sofia Walking Tour and learn some of the tips and facts I learned about this always growing, never aging city. There's also a yellow brick road (random).
Summary of Sofia:
-One of the oldest cities in Europe, founded over 6,000 years ago
-Named after a church (but not Saint Sofia, like many people think)
-The only European capital that's not on a river or port
-Bulgaria has some of the oldest vineyards in Europe and is also known for having the best rose oil in the world
-The only European capital with a significant mountain nearby where you can go skiing! - Vitosha Mountain
-Bulgaria is a democracy that joined NATO in 2004 and the European Union in 2007
-The Lion is a symbol of Bulgaria, although lions have never lived there. The currency, Lev, means lion in Bulgarian and you can find lions represented everywhere from Sofia's coat of arms to beer cans.
-Sofia and Bulgaria are famous for their thermal hot springs everywhere
-Sofia is built on levels - you can see ruins from the 4th century AD in the subway, next to 21st century construction
-It's one of the few European capitals that doesn't have an old town center
-Although the country is quite secular, in 1 square block you can find an Orthodox church, Catholic cathedral, Jewish synagogue and Islamic Mosque - also near a Russian Orthodox church.
-Sofia has lots of great bars, restaurants, and nightlife, as well as reasonably priced everything from food to luxury hotels
It's worth a visit!

We took the Istanbul - Sofia express to start our Bulgaria series, ending our time in Turkey. This travel vlog we show what to expect on an overnight train between Turkey and Bulgaria and what it looks like on the 2 Berth Cabin. We are making our way to Bansko, a town in the mountains of Bulgaria, the Pirin national park. The train cost 420 lira for both of us in the sleeper train. Not bad for our own private cabin.

Bulgaria House Tour
Feeling nosey? Come and have a nose around my Bulgaria home.
I bought this place in February 2016. I’d always loved the TV show ‘A Place in the Sun’ and thought that one day I’d love to have a place in Spain. However Spain had become more expensive over the years and I didn’t want to have to buy somewhere really in-land in order to be able to afford it.
After my Dad passed away, I had a little bit of inheritance money but still not enough to buy a place in the sun. Then one day about a year after he had died, his bank called me to say they owed him PPI money, and that as his next of kin, it would come to me. It was just enough to get me excited that there was the potential to buy a place abroad.
The reason why I picked Bulgaria was the value for money. I remember watching Karl Pilkington and Ricky Gervais talking after the Idiot Abroad series, and Karl Pilkington said “Anyone with half a brain knows if you’re going to buy property overseas you should pick Bulgaria!” And that’s how I ended up here - on a recommendation from Karl Pilkington!!
In December 2017 I was granted the maximum stay for permanent residency. An important move I felt based on GB’s exit from the EU.
Anyway, I hope you like my Bulgarian home :-)

SOFIA - Bulgaria Travel Guide | Around The World
Sofia (Bulgarian: София) is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria. 1.3 million people live in the city and 1.7 million people live in its metropolitan area. The city is at the foot of Vitosha Mountain in the western part of the country. Being in the centre of the Balkan peninsula, it is midway between the Black Sea and the Adriatic Sea, and closest to the Aegean Sea.
Sofia has been an area of human habitation since at least 7000 BC. Being Bulgaria's primate city, Sofia is a hometown of many of the major local universities, cultural institutions and commercial companies. Sofia is one of the top 10 best places for start-up business in the world, especially in information technologies. Sofia was Europe's most affordable capital to visit in 2013.
Sofia is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Bulgaria alongside coastal and mountain resorts. Among its highlights is the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, one of the symbols of Bulgaria, constructed in the late 19th century. It occupies an area of 3,170 square metres (34,122 square feet) and can hold 10,000 people.
Sofia holds Bulgaria's largest museum collections, which attract tourists and students for practical studies. The National Historical Museum in Boyana district has a vast collection of more than 650,000 historical items dating from Prehistory to the modern era, although only 10,000 of them are permanently displayed due to the lack of space. Smaller collections of items related mostly to the history of Sofia are in the National Archaeological Museum, a former mosque located between the edifices of the National Bank and the Presidency. Two natural sciences museums — the Natural History Museum and the Earth and Man — display minerals, animal species (alive and taxidermic) and rare materials. The Ethnographic Museum and the National Museum of Military History are other places of interest, holding large collections of Bulgarian folk costumes and armaments, respectively.
Vitosha Boulevard, also called Vitoshka, is a pedestrian zone with numerous cafés, restaurants, fashion boutiques, and luxury goods stores. Sofia's geographic location, in the foothills of the weekend retreat Vitosha mountain, further adds to the city's specific atmosphere.
The city has an extensive green belt. Some of the neighbourhoods constructed after 2000 are densely built up and lack green spaces. There are four principal parks – Borisova gradina in the city centre and the Southern, Western and Northern parks. Several smaller parks, among which the Zaimov Park, City Garden and the Doctors' Garden, are located in central Sofia. The Vitosha Nature Park (the oldest national park in the Balkans) includes most of Vitosha mountain and covers an area of 266 square kilometres (103 sq mi),[88] with roughly half of it lying within the municipality of Sofia. Vitosha Mountain is a popular hiking destination due to its proximity and ease of access via car and public transport. Two functioning cable cars provide year long access from the outskirts of the city. The mountain offers favourable skiing conditions during the winter when multiple ski slopes of various difficulty are made available. Access to the ski slopes is regulated, they are maintained daily and health and safety personnel are available to assist in case of injury. Skiing passes typically allow unlimited access to the ski slopes, cable cars and other transport facilities. Skiing equipment can be rented and skiing lessons are available.

My Life in Bulgaria Highlights: Sofia, Plovdiv, Bansko and Velingrad!
In this videoblog I am going to show you highlights of my life in Bulgaria. That's why the title is, My Life in Bulgaria Highlights!
I lived for 50 days in a 5-star hotel in Velingrad, Bulgaria.
When my friend Frans came to visit here, we traveled to Plovdiv, Bansko and Sofia. It was nice to see Bulgarian life. We noticed that Bulgarian nature is extremely beautiful.
Then before the Christmas my mother and Markus came to visit me also. We enjoyed Bulgarian food and atmosphere. In Bulgaria they eat lots of meat.
I enjoyed the food because I'm a meat lover. That being said, they also had delicious salads like shopska and other ones.
I truly think that Bulgaria is a much better country than its reputation. There are so many good things: nature, food, weather, etc. Also, the cost of living in Bulgaria is very cheap.
Some people have asked, Is Bulgaria safe? I saw the statistics that it's one of the safest countries in the whole world. It's even safer than Italy or many other countries in the Western Europe. I hope that the Bulgarian economy will also rise in the future.
Next I will travel to Macedonia, Turkey, UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) and the Philippines.
Feel free to subscribe to my channel to follow my trip all around the world. You can also share this channel to your friends that like traveling.
Let me know in the comments what kind of videoblogs you would like to see in the future. I am also available for any questions you have regarding Bulgaria, being digital nomad or whatever you want to ask! :)
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
