Spanish Riding School Vienna | GRANDER Water Experience: Lipizzaner horses
Johannes Hamminger is Senior Stable Master at famous Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria. This house is very popular with tourists – around 300.000 people visit this UNESCO world heritage every year. Its history is dated back to the year 1565!
Of course it is very important to the stable master to supply all of his 72 stallions with best food and drinking water. That’s why they installed a GRANDER device back in the year 2000. Since then they noticed, that the horses are drinking up to 25% more water! Mr. Hamminger proudly tells us that since then, the colics went back and the digestive systems of the animals are working better. Guests also can see the good health at the appearance and the behaviour of the white Lipizzaner horses.
Many animals worldwide do instinctively prefer revitalised water – here you can read more references and experiences:

Vienna Austria WOW Factor
Vienna, Austria has an air of old world elegance and charm that I haven't forgotten since my first visit to this European capital when I was eighteen. It's such a fun city and one that I'll keep going back to. The city hums with history, art, music, and culture. In this video I'm sharing my favourite things to do in Vienna (Wien).
My Other Videos From Vienna:
Christmas martyr tradition in Vienna:
See the MAGICAL Christmas markets in Vienna:
Why Vienna has my favourite Christmas market:
Belvedere Palace is one of the world's best baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The grounds, architecture, chandeliers and painted ceilings make it easy to pretend that royals still live there. The Belvedere has the world's largest collection of paintings by Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt, including his most famous painting, The Kiss. Marc and I couldn't resists taking some selfies to try and recreate the dreamy embrace ;) The Belvedere also has a large collection of Egon Schiele paintings, another of my favourite artists. He was also a protégé of Klimt's. I especially loved seeing a series called Character Heads that are sculpted busts from the late 1700s that remind me of modern day emojis!
Another amazing art museum in Vienna, though in a totally different way, is Museum Hundertwasser. Friedensreich Hundertwasser was an Austrian artist and architect who loved using geometric shapes, bright colours, and spirals. He thought straight lines were 'godless' so you won't see them in any of his art or buildings. He was also passionate about environmental protection and how humanity could live in harmony with nature. Down the street is Hundertwasserhaus which I highly recommend seeing. It's a private apartment building so you can't go inside but you can admire it from the outside which is totally worth it. Hundertwasser's distinct style stands apart from the traditional Austrian buildings around it. Don't miss the trees growing on the roof and also planted right in the building facade.
One of my favourite spots in Vienna is the State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper). You can do tours or, better yet, go and see an opera. This is one of my top recommendations for Vienna and you can get super cheap tickets for 3 or 4 Euros - perfect for the budget! These tickets are standing room only but there are little benches that you can lean up against. Trust me, it's worth it. You can't book these tickets in advance and the lines can get really long so make sure you arrive well ahead of time. I thought this was Vienna's cheapest thrill until I found something beneath the opera house at the entrance to the Karlsplatz subway station: the Opera Toilet!
The Vienna Opera Toilet is exactly what it sounds like: a public toilet where, for 90 cents, you can use the decorated bathroom while loud opera music plays. I found the whole thing extremely amusing and it made me giddy. I couldn't help dancing to the music. It might be my first time dancing in a public toilet!
Don't miss riding the tram in Vienna - it's one of the city's defining features and trams move more than 200 million passengers each year. The tram network began in 1865 when horses pulled the tram carriages. Can you imagine? It's an affordable way to get around and give your feet a break so you can just look out the window and enjoy.
When I think of Vienna I also think of the roof at St. Stephen's Cathedral. The bold, colourful pattern is surprising and unique. It's located right in the city centre and is definitely worth checking out.
I'd love to know what YOUR favourite parts of Vienna, Austria are. Please share in a comment below!

Vienna In Your Pocket - Hofburg
Vienna In Your Pocket's Stefan Bauer tours the Hofburg, one of Vienna's main sites. Home to the Habsburg monarchy for more than six centuries, the ten major buildings comprising the Hofburg complex represent the splendour and influence of what was once the mightiest empire in Europe. While this has been the site of countless decisive historical events, the sweeping arcaded façade of the Neue Burg earned worldwide notoriety in April of 1938, when Adolf Hitler spoke to a crowd of 200,000 people from its central balcony. Nearly every Austrian monarch has left his (or her) fingerprint on the layout of this palace, resulting in a stylistic mishmash and a wide array of museums. Maps in several languages are posted in the courtyards throughout the complex, but here are the highlights: the Schatzkammer (Imperial Treasury) houses the crown jewels, as well as the nail supposed to have pierced Christ's right hand and the so-called Spear of Destiny. If you're into impressive baroque interiors, the reading room of the Nationalbibliothek (National Library) is a highlight. For those with a fascination for sordid dynastic family histories, a ticket to the Kaiserappartements (Emperor's Apartments) includes the Silberkammer (Silver Vault) and Sisimuseum (Sisi Museum), lending an intimate insight into the private lives of Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife, Elizabeth of Bavaria (better known locally as Sisi). The dancing white Lippizaner horses of the Spanische Hofreitschule (Spanish Riding School) perform here, as well as the boy sopranos and altos of the Wiener Sängerknaben (Vienna Boys' Choir). But even if you don't have time for a museum trip, a stroll through the Hofburg complex is a definite must.

The Tempel Lipizzans began in 1958 when the late Tempel and Esther Smith imported 20 Lipizzans from the Austrian stud farm in Piber and started what became the largest privately owned herd of Lipizzans in the world. The Tempel Lipizzans originally performed at private functions and charitable events.
Europe River Cruising with Scenic | Rose Jacobs visits Palais Liechtenstein
For more information visit:
Palais Liechtenstein or the ‘Liechtenstein Garden Palace’ is a stunning 17th century building in Vienna, Austria.
Read below for full transcript:
Well I hope you remember to pack an evening outfit because tonight’s Scenic Enrich experience is a very special one indeed welcome to the Palais Liechtenstein.
This palace was built in the 17th century and today it is considered one of Vienna’s most famous palaces; it's also the location for tonight's very special event. We are in the city of music, so let's go in and celebrate this. Come and see!
When you enter the Palais Liechtenstein in the welcome foyer you wont help but notice the golden carriage, this was commissioned in 1738 as one of four golden carriages, but unfortunately there is only one remaining; it was commissioned by the Prince Liechtenstein at the time in the 18th century, when he was based in Paris for his purpose of simply parading the streets of Paris.
It's a fairly impressive showcase here at the palace that you can enjoy during your evening. Whether it be the welcome glass of Austrian sparkling, a glimpse of the golden gardens or the incredible fresco's surrounding you, nothing will prepare you for the performance that awaits; showcasing the timeless music of Austrians best.
Let Strauss and Mozart carry you away at your own private Viennese evening concert. It's a multi-sensory evening you'll never forget; featuring ballet, opera and the breathtaking Viennese orchestra and the best part it's all yours to enjoy exclusively with Scenic.

Europe River Cruising with Scenic | Scenic Freechoice in Vienna with Rose Jacobs
For more information visit:
Read below for full transcript:
As you know Scenic goes to the nth degree to make sure your individual needs are met, that's why they've created the Freechoice experiences.
With over 21 choices for you to select from you'll be literally spoiled for choice.
Today is no exception, I'm showing you three of my personal picks; starting with a shop with the chef from the ship.
Scenic Guest: “Good food, good wine good everything its great.”
Scenic Guest: “It’s wonderful, great variety, great variety of choices.”
Designed to let your taste buds run wild, your chef will personally guide you through the markets; hand selecting the very best produce and when you're in Austria with Scenic everything tastes amazing.
Another Scenic Freechoice option which I know you will love is a visit to the world renowned Spanish Riding School, I’m told the morning exercise program is just about to start; so giddy up!
This is the winter riding school within the Hofburg Palace, it was originally built in the 1720s so the Emperor could view the horses and their riders preparing for battle; it’s been here now for over 450 years and today it's your Scenic Freechoice experience.
I've caught up with Florian one of the trainers here at the riding school.
Florian: “You can see that the real work we do with horses because you can see how we train the horses every day, so it's not just show.”
But that's enough horsing around, it's time to check out our third Scenic Freechoice experience; today and once again it's a winner.
Scenic carefully handcrafts the Freechoice activities to what is most important to you; so be it the food, with our shopping with the chef, perhaps it's the culture, the Spanish Riding School or maybe it's here with the history; this is Schonbrunn Palace, and this is considered by many to be one of the most historically important monuments in the entire country of Austria.
While much of the palace does still remain off-limits, it is still considered an incredible example of the Hapsburg monarch; at the time that ruled Austria for in fact 600 years. It has fourteen hundred and forty-one rooms oh and this was just the summer residence.
In Austria a palace without a garden is traditionally considered to be like a bride without a dowry; I guess you could say that's a fairly impressive dowry.
There's even a private zoo at the back of the garden and that is considered to be one of the very best in all of Europe.
Well I hope you’ve enjoyed the range of activities that you can experience on your Scenic journey through Austria, there's only one downside with so many experiences free for choice and that is you will want to do them all.
It’s so hard to choose.
