Summer at Proctor Park Conservation Area (Brighton, ON - July 2015)
A refreshing walk among nature can be found along Butler Creek at Brighton's Proctor Park Conservation Area. While there is a lot of open space at the south end of the conservation area, a large forest can be found just north of there. The cedar lowlands along the creek are mixed with ferns, while hardwood forest can be found at higher ground. The rushing water of Butler Creek is often mixed with the sounds of birds chirping.
This video was shot in mid-July, 2015.

December Scenes at Proctor Park (Brighton, ON)
During an early December visit to Proctor Park Conservation Area in Brighton, Ontario, there was little snow on the ground and still some bird chirping to be heard. Autumn's fallen leaves were still clearly visible. However, the sun was out and it was a perfect day for a visit to see the rushing waters of Butler Creek.
Despite the almost complete lack of snow on the ground, what little snow and ice there was made for beautiful scenery. Much of the ice and snow that remained from much colder weather in weeks past remained on some logs and in the form of tiny snowbanks along the creek. Even a few icicles could be found.

Proctor Park: Late Winter on Butler Creek (Brighton, ON - March 2018)
Temperatures were well above freezing in southern Ontario at the beginning of March, 2018. However, at Proctor Park Conservation Area in Brighton, there was at least a nice layer of snow left on the ground. This made for some nice winter scenery in the cedar lowlands along Butler Creek. I also had a nice encounter with one of the resident squirrels, having a snack.

A November Afternoon at Proctor Park: Featuring Icicles on Butler Creek (Brighton, ON - 2017)
This video was shot after an unseasonable cold snap that gave southern Ontario an early taste of winter. There were two consecutive days in mid-November, 2017 where many communities had high temperatures of 0 C or below. In any case, life went on for the squirrel in the video, who was enjoying a snack on some tree branches high above the trail. While it was above 0 C when I shot this video, there was plenty of evidence of a recent cold snap. Icicles and other ice formations were spotted along branches, twigs and an old tree trunk above the creek.

Late Summer at Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area (Orland, ON - September 2016)
The sounds of crickets, birds and Cold Creek could all be heard during my late summer Sunday afternoon visit to Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area. The Summer of 2016 has been exceptionally dry and has taken its toll on Eastern Ontario, with some examples being visible in this video. At about 9:20, you will notice trees in the distance with reddish leaves. These are not examples of early fall colours. The leaves have been scorched from the dry weather. Between the 10:30 and 11:00 marks, you will notice a channel of Cold Creek is almost completely dried up.
Along the way, there were some scenes that contrasted with the signs of extremely dry weather. On both the hillsides and the floor of the cedar forest adjacent to Cold Creek, an abundance of ferns could be found. While this is often the case in a cedar forest, this type of greenery was still a welcome sight.
This video was shot north of Brighton, ON, in early September 2016.
