Professor's Lake is a 65-acre (26 ha) spring-fed artificial lake located in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Beginning in 1918, the area where the lake currently is was used as a gravel pit. In total, the pit produced approximately 20 million tonnes of sand and gravel. It re-opened as a quarry from 1954 to 1973. When digging hit the water table, the gravel pit flooded and the lake was formed.
Improvements to the resulting lake were undertaken in 1973 by the company that owned the gravel pit operations, and it was at this time that it was given its name in honour of Hans Abromeit, a German professor of economics and the company's president.
The lake is used extensively for sailing, windsurfing, fishing, and canoeing. Professor's Lake Recreation Centre is located on the southern side of the lake and has a beach for swimming as well as a waterslide. There are also three volleyball courts at the far end of the beach.
The immediate residential neighborhood surrounding the lake is also widely referred to as Professor's Lake. Residential homes surrounds much of the lake with a small park on the northwest side. The park continues on the east side of lake with a beach, small boat dock and city recreation centre. A paved 2 kilometre promenade surrounds part of the lake. Prior to residential development, the lake was farmland.
In August 1998, the beach was temporarily closed after a local fisherman caught a rogue piranha in the lake. The origins of the piranha remain unclear.

WTF? Professor Lake, Brampton, Ontario
I went to Professor Lake in Brampton Ontario to do a bit of spring fishing for crappie and pan fish. I used my iphone 4s to record the video paired with the miveu chest mount strap.
My fishing setup was a 7ft ultralight 4-piece fishing rod with 4lb test mono line and for bait, I used a 2 inch white mini tube bait with a jig.
WTF? Bewdley and Gores Landing, Rice Lake, Ontario
I made this video for people who are interested in shore fishing spots a few hours outside of Toronto, Ontario. Every time I try searching videos on youtube of shore fishing destination around Ontario, I would most likely not find any. Also most of the video are from a boat and I want to give people an experience fishing from shore.
The place I went to is around 1.5 hour drive East of Toronto and north of Port Hope.
The first fishing destination is at a small town called Bewdley. There's lots of parking but there's a 2 hour enforced parking limit. You can pretty much move your car to another spot after 2 hours if you plan on fishing in that area.
This is the perfect place for families to fish and have fun. There's a playground, washroom facilities, restaurants, and a convenience store 2 minute proximity from each other. If the fishing is slow, the kids can play in the playground and you can keep an eye out of them while your fishing on the docks.
During the evening around sunset, you can use top water baits to catch bass. I caught a few a while back but I feel like this area has been heavily fished and pressured. This is a really popular and accessible area for people to visit and fish. The best spot would be at the public docks. You can catch walleye, yellow perch, large-mouth bass, bluegills and other pan fishes there with a worm and bobber.
The next spot I went to is Gores Landing. This is about 10 minute drive from Bewdley heading east of the Lake. There's a Marina where you can rent boats. This is a really good spot for slab crappie.
If you subscribe to my channel, I will create more videos about fishing specific species for the specific body of water.

Urban Bass Fishing - Proffesors Lake, Brampton, On
I APOLOGIZE FOR THE BAD POV ANGLE** (1080p60FPS)
Hey Guys, After my Last visit to Ken Whillans Conservation Area, I decided to check out my favorite local lake, which I used to fish as a small Child! I fished the side of the lake near the rec centre, which has a very steep drop off, where the Rock Bass and Crappie hang out! As I arrived at one of my favorite spots, I noticed a large, largemouth bass cruising the shallows. I bought some live bait and saw no Sunfish or Rock Bass In the water. They were probably scared of the large bass, that I noticed chasing and thrashing around small shiners up shallow. I fished for the Bass for 2 hours, he didnt hit any of my baits! I tried spinner, senkos, and gulp swimbaits! BUT NOTHING! I later switched it up to a panfish rig with a bobber, I caught a 3 inch Rock Bass and Pumpkinseed Sunfish.
As I casted my bait out the Bass flashed my Bait. Then saw the hook! I was even more determined. I through out a large worm (un hooked) and my bait at the same time and, HE CRUNCHED IT. PLEASE SUB AND LIKE MY VIDEO

WTF? Topham Pond, Toronto, Ontario
Topham Pond is located on the south east corner of Jane and Eglinton. I decided to check out this spot and see if I can catch any bass in the pond. I only stayed for about 30 minutes before heading out to other fishing spots that day.
I'm sure there are bass and pan fishes in the pond. If you have any experience or pictures, please let me know. When I have time, I may re-visit these spots to see if i can catch something worth recording.

WTF? Bass fishing at Heart Lake Conservation Area, Brampton, Ontario
I went to check out Heart Lake in Brampton and I caught a few bass at this lake. The shore fishing is amazing as you have lots of shore fishing access. The vegetation of the lake is also nice. They have boat rentals where you can rent canoes or a paddle boat. If you rent a paddle boat, you'll be able to cover more water and catch bigger bass!
I highly recommend this place for fishing if you need to find a close place to Toronto. They also have zip lines if you're into that type of activity.
