What To Do When You Flip Your Canoe
Driving across Canada with the pursuit of random conversations with strangers does not happen without its challenges. There is an amazing organization called, HelpX where people can offer their help to others in exchange for free room and board. The jobs can range from anything that you might do on a farm, to construction projects, to any number of other activities. And you can stay with your host for as few as a couple of days, or as long as several months or sometimes even years. Helpx.net
We decided to participate on a farm in Magnetawan, Ontario. Our responsibilities included moving some firewood, moving some lumber and general cleaning up. We would typically work about 4 hours each day, have meals and conversations.
So one afternoon, Renee and I decided to get out on the canoe. The late October weather was beautiful and we were up for some adventure.
And we found it.
After the flip, a Google search brought me to this article that I found both useful and entertaining. The artwork below is by Ian Tendy and here's the LINK to How to Right a Flipped Canoe Properly.
Enjoy!

2 Day Canoe Trip - Magnetewan Lake | Algonquin Provincial Park, ON
This was a quick solo trip to Magnetewan Lake in Algonquin in the spring of 2018. Longer trip plans fell through but I needed to get to nature. The fish weren't biting but I enjoyed the tranquility of being in the backcountry in early spring.

Episode 1: Sunshine Coast Trail Backpacking Trip from Tin Hat Mountain Cabin to Walt Hill Hut
In the spring 2019, my good friend Adele invited me to join her, her dog Whiskey and their new friend Kaitlyn, on a trip around the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia.
This four day backpacking adventure took us on a section of the Sunshine Coast Trail, allowing us to discover the many huts and cabins along the way.
We stopped at Tin Hat Mountain Cabin (aka Tin Hat Hut), then Ell Lake Hut and finally Walt Hill Hut.

Hello Friends, if you don't know who I am, here's a little more about me.
My name is Brice.
I was born in Rennes, France.
After graduating from film school in 2003, I moved to Paris, starting a career in the film industry.
One of my first assignment was assistant editor on an animal documentary. Presented by Warner Independent Pictures and National Geographic Feature Films, March of the Penguins became a box office hit and Oscar winning documentary touching the hearts of audiences around the globe.
My time spent in Paris was shared between his film editing and my love of photography.
In 2009 I decided to follow my long sought after dream and moved to Canada.
My passion for photography soon became an obvious career and, whether it is for portraits at my Vancouver studio, or for larger commercial jobs on location, all around the world, I am now happy and proud to devote all of my time and energy doing what I love most. Photographing/filming athletes for running brands and magazines, and capturing my adventures for outdoors brands.
When I am not photographing big commercial projects, I also work on personal projects like Studio to Trails. Which has been widely popular in North America amongst the trail running community.
My client list includes: Salomon, TED, New Balance, Asics, AirBnb, Canadian Running Magazine, British Columbia Magazine, Trail Runner Magazine.

Nakani: The Wildman of the North
Legend has it that a mysterious figure haunts the frozen forests of Northern Canada. Very little known outside of the Canadian Territories and Alaska, this figure most closely resembles the Sasquatch said to roam the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. To the Dene people who have inhabited the Athabascan wilderness since time immemorial, however, these creatures are known as Nakani.

Keyhole Hot Springs Whistler
Keyhole Hot Springs
Directions to Keyhole Falls Hot Springs Trailhead:
From Whistler Drive north on Highway 99 until you reach Pemberton
When you reach Pemberton turn left at the traffic lights and after 1k you will come to a roundabout, left here and drive 200 metres to the T junction, you will see a sign for The Meadows turn right here and and another The Meadows sign in a couple hundred metres pointing left.
Head NW from Pemberton on Pemberton Meadows road for 25km and turn right onto Upper Lillooet. Be careful to keep left at 9km (right goes to Gold Bridge via Hurley Pass)
At 36k you will see the massive mudslide carnage of 2010.
At km 37 continue straight past the Meager Creek turn-off on your left, which is now a mound of dirt blocking the road that once was the giant bridge to Meager Creek Hot Springs
At about km 43.2, a shallow stream crosses the road (2WD OK though it may be up to 2 feet deep or more in the summer)
Climb a short hill, curving to the right for about 400 metres
The pull out is just past the climb, on the left at 43.8. There are no real trail markings but the path is well worn and easy to follow
From the trailhead you should reach the huge campsite in about 15 minutes. As you approach the campsite the hot springs are another 5 minutes down the trail that extends to the right down towards the river/springs.
