Lake Plav/ Plavsko jezero 2019
It is a glacial lake located between the Prokletije and Visitor mountain ranges at an altitude of 906 m above sea level, and extends north-south for some 2,160 m. Its average width is 920 m, and its maximum depth is nine meters.
It is the largest glacial lake in Montenegro, and is also the best-known tourist attraction in the area.
The whole Plav region nestles at the foot of the towering Prokletije mountain range and rests on the banks of Lake Plav. The lake itself stretches from north to south for nearly a mile.
The lake itself is full of limestone caverns and there are many springs where water gushes forth from the earth.

The beauty of Plav - Montenegro
In this video we will show you in photos the beauty of this part of Montenegro. In everyday (common) language, the name Prokletije refers to part of the masif which is located in the Plav and Gusinje region. Plav, which occupies 3.5% of the total territory of Montenegro, shares a 52km long border with Albania. The Plav municipalty is organized in three local centers: Plav, Gusinje and Murino.
Plav is located on the bank of Plavsko Lake, in the Visitor mountain foothill, at 910m altitude.
Gusinje is located between Prokletije sharp cliffs to the south, and Visitor mountain to the north, near the rivers Vruje and the Grncara junction.
Murino is located between Visitor and Zeletin mountains in the west, and Cakor in the northeast. North lies the river Lim valley.

Prokletije 2017 - (Ropojana - Plav - Karaula - Popadija - Karanfili - Šuplja vrata)
Kakav flashback, kakav povratak u prošlost. Nakon više od 10 godina, vraćamo se na mjesto zločina. Dolina Grebaje. Momenat koji je ostao urezan u sjećanju je prvo jutro. Došli smo kasno, nakon dugog puta, mračna noć nas je otjerala na počinak. Ujutro izlazim sav podbuho na trijem, kad ono nalazim se u nekom prelijepom širokom bunaru, a okolo izbrazdani zidovi, a jedan navalio da se stropošti posred nas, poslije saznadoh Očnjak. Takvo je bilo prvo jutro.
Sada, bilo je znatno drugačije. Planirali smo svašta, ali bambuća pa dokle doguramo. Ekipa mala ali probrana, 10 žigosanih. Prvi dan obilazak Gusinja, Plava, Vusanja...Sve super sve za 5, ali standardna falinka u našim krajevima, smeća na sve strane. Prva i druga noć hladne ko žilet. Ljeto je prošlo. Al` izgleda moram otići na Prokletije da skontam. Drugi dan akcija, juriš prema Popadiji i Talijanci, drži nedaj, eto nas na Karauli. Neplanirano dobar pogled. S druge strane nafurani Karanfili. I ja bi bio. Tamo ćemo sutra. Traži marku, traži stazu da spojimo prema Popadiji. Lijevo desno, nabasasmo. Izlazimo na greben i polako. Vrh. Svi su sretni i lijepo nam je. Sjećam se druga Kape, Leki Porobki i ostalih drugova od prije 10tak godina... Planina veže. Veže obaveze prema ljudima. Bolje nego bilo koji ugovor.
Okolo sve gori, gori u Albaniji dole prema Skadru, a gori i u Ropojani s druge strane Karanfila, u sljedećoj dolini. Niko i ne pomišlja da gasi, nema CZ, vatrogasaca, armija ali ni ostalih dušebrižnika da kukaju po fejsu. Haman da nema ni ljudi. Zračimo se na vrhu nekih 40min i idemo dalje prema Talijanci. Već smo tanki s vodom te idemo direkt prema izvoru i nizbrdo ka smještaju. Valja sutra na kontra stranu. Noć prolazi čas brzo čas sporo, raspoloženje mijenja brzine.
Treći dan ista nafaka. Vrijeme odlično, raja na broju. Možemo vala i sjedit na livadi opet bi nam dobro bilo. No međutim hajmo na Sjeverni. Kažu samo na sjever. Ne znam jel bilo na sjever, al je uznos brate. I tako ide to. Pa nekakav sipar. Ali vrh odmah skontaš. Lijepi sivi zid. Sa 485 nijansi sive. Kako bi se ovdje vezalo i stezalo po ovim policama...Draga Dakota aka Anastasia, još bi visila odozgo. Dolazimo do sajle, Nedo nije ispoštovao dogovor, neće da nosi štapove. Šta reći, idemo dalje. Nema tu neke priče. Mic po mic i eto nas pod vrhom. Poče nešta zvrndat. Kurto i Zeko i njihove skalamerije. Leti dron niz odron. Upeklo, ko bi reko da sam se preksinoć smrzo. Smrzao. Sledio. Uglavnom...Spucasmo šta smo imali i hajmo na Šuplja vrata. Opet sipar, jupiiii. Prođomo i ta vrata. Puše vala kroz njih, ali navikli smo mi planinari da puše. Uvijek negdje i odnekud puše. Šta više puše ne znam, ali mi ne smeta. Šta da ne puše? Tu je već krenuo opuštenko i lagano niz kotare, pored Očnjaka i prema smještaju. Dobro bi vala. Tu noć i sutra dan je još bilo svašta. I prekosutra. Podvojenih i utrojenih ličnosti ponajmanje ali i njih. Mare je bila zadovoljna, ako se sjeća o čemu pričam. Međutim ko će o svemu, nema se vremena a ni prostora, a uostalom i nije sve za svakog...Smaram ali od dragosti. Majke mi.

Visitor/Goles/Zeletin/Greben mountain range is located between Komovi Mt and Prokletije Mt ranges, above the town and lake of Plav, in gigantic eastern mountains of Montenegro. The mountainous eco system of the breathtaking Montenegrin Prokletije Mountains belong to the Plav Municipality and features mountainous and high-mountainous habitats of Karanfil, Vezirova brada, Maja Kolata, Maja Rosit, Bogićevica Mountain, Trojan Mountain, Volušnica, Karaula, Popadija, Zastan, Vizitor and Greben, rivers of Grnčar, Vruja, Trokutska Rijeka, Ljuča, Lim and Dolja and valleys of Grbaja and Ropojana and others. Eco research of the Montenegrin Prokletije Mountains area carried out so far does prove particular zones that attributes extraordinary harsh scenery and unreal beautiful landscapes, as well as rich biodiversity and it is known that Prokletije Mountains-Accursed Mountains are considered the second most glacial mountains of Europe, after the Alps. Those Prokletije eco zones include Bjelič, Bogićevica Mountain, Karanfil, Karaula, area between Ropojane and Grbaja Valleys, Popadija, Trojan, river basins of Grlja and Ropojana with Ali-pasha s Springs, Grbaja and Dolja, Grnčar and Ljuča and Plav Lake, as well as zone of the Hrid and Vizitor Lakes with their immediate surroundings and the Zone of Volušnica peak. The surrounding lush mountain forests add special beauty of this area, which also feature wonderful mountainous lakes rich in various wild game and numerous medicinal herbs.
Cultural Heritage of Plav and surroundings date from the prehistorical period, the Roman and Illyric eras, as well as the Medieval Ages and the period of the Turkish conquest and prove the uniquely rich cultural diversity. In the Medieval times through Plav led the caravan roads from the Adriatic area of Kotor Bay to the Constantinople. The most significant sites, places of interest and cultural-historical monuments of Plav are the wonderfully preserved Old Mosque, the Kula Redzepagica – Redzepagic Tower with its amazing collections /one of the most monumental and impressive kulas – towers in the Balkans/, the Saint Trinity Monastery in Brezojevica village, the Vizier Mosque in Gusinje, remains of old strongholds and towns, Djurdjevi Stupovi Monastery in Berane… The Redžepagić Mosque Plav was built for gratitude to her father in 1774 by Fatima, daughter of Redzep aga and wife of the Scadar vizier Kara Mahmud pasha Bushatlija who constructed the Gusinje Mosque in 1765. The interior of the Redžepagić Mosque, located in the center of Plav beside the Redzepagic Tower, is adorned with woodcarving, while the wooden minaret is 14 meters high. The Old Tzar Mosque in Plav is the oldest mosque in the area of Plav and Gusinje, which has been protected as the monument of culture. It has been built in 1471 on the ramparts and remains of the former stronghold of Dizdar grad – fortification of Dizdar. Until the reconstruction, the Old Tzar Mosque used to have wooden roof – shingle roof and the 10 meters high wooden minaret. The Old Tzar Mosque in Plav features very interesting architecture, especially distinguished woodcarving and arabesques, and was called the asker mosque – the military mosque, as was built and used for services of the military stationed in the stronghold. The Šabović Mosque in Plav has been built in 1900. by sons of Jakub Fer – Hasan aga, Muhammed, Omer, Emin and Aguš. It was built by hewn stone, without wooden parts. The minaret was constructed from wood and is 7 meters high. The interior of the Šabović Mosque in Plav is richly adorned with wood-carved wooden elements, and colorful ceiling is specially interesting. The Sultanija Mosque in the center of Plav has been built by the Sultan Abdul Hamid II in 1907. Constructors from Debar built this mosque from 1900-1910 from hewn stone, that was connected with lead. It is assumed that they builders added egg mixture into the mortar in order to achieve the additional strength and consistence of 1 meter thick walls. The Sultanija Mosque in Plav during time was used as school, and for some time was turned into the police building, to be returned to the Islamic community in 1991.
The beautiful range of Visitor-Goles-Zeletin-Greben consists of four mountains connected – Visitor (2211 m), Goles (2033 m), Zeletin (2112 m) and Greben (2196 m).
