August 2017. Eating crocodile and kangaroo meat. Damage to the asymmetric sail is repaired in Townsville. Seeing the Reef HQ Aquarium and Museum of Tropical Queensland. Incredibly cute rock wallabies and wild koalas on Magnetic Island. The great assortment of unusual animals at the Bungalow Bay Koala Village. The Fort Complex.

From Sydney to Bathurst behind 4001
On Sunday 5 December 2010 newly-restored NSW Railways' Canadian-bult RSC3, 4001, led Goodwin/Alco locomotives 4520 and 44211 from Sydney to Bathurst and return. The occasion was the NSW Rail Transport Museum's Christmas 'party', and following its 20 November launch, this was only the second 'outing' for 4001. Unfortunately the locomotive suffered mechanical failure in the Blue Mountains and was eventually switched out at Bathurst for the return run.

Museum kota Makassar yang terletak Jl. Balaikota terus berbenah. Bangunan 1916 tersebut, dulunya berfungsi sebagai kantor balaikota. Revitalisasipun tak hanya dilakukan pada bangunan, namun juga pada koleksi museum.
Setiap harinya, museum kota Makassar didatangi ratusan pengunjung yang mayoritas pelajar SD-SMA.
Konsulat-Jenderal Australia Makassar, Richard Mathews juga terlihat mengunjungi Museum, Selasa (25/10/2016).
Dalam kunjungannya, selain berdiskusi dengan para petugas museum, Richard Mathews juga menyempatkan berkeliling museum dan melihat setiap detail interior bangunan.
Tadi saya liat banyak anak sekolah, imbuh Richard diawal diskusi bersama Kepala Bidang Kebudayaan Dinas Pendidikan, Pantja Nur Wahidin.
Pantja juga didampingi oleh Kepala Museum kota Makassar, Nurul Chamisany.
Celebrating 150 Years of Queensland Rail
Memories and stories were flowing over the weekend as the Mackay and Sarina platforms welcomed an historic steam locomotive as part of the Queensland Rail 150th birthday celebrations.

Moreton Mill at Nambour QLD sadly is now closed. It did offer one of the most accessible cane railway operations, clanking up Howard and then Mill Streets. Surrounding farms not connected to the rail network shipped rail bins on big rigs which were transhipped at the marshalling yard at the foot of Howard Street.

STRESS-FREE, COST EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT
Heli-Central operate two helicopters to support the sugar cane industry from Proserpine to Camilla. During the summer season, these helicopters spray over 6,000 hectares of sugar cane and grazing country as well as applying fertiliser and seeding.
Most recently, Heli-Central has improved their aerial rural ag operation by upgrading equipment to ensure spraying and spreading is more efficient, economical and safe for farmers.
Heli-Central’s Isuzu truck is fitted out with a custom spray loading crate to ensure the efficiency and safety of chemical loading and handling.
The use of Accu-Flow nozzles significantly reduce the risk of drift spray by producing a more uniform droplet with less than 2% of the spray droplet forming fine spray. This means a more accurate, wider spray which is less affected by wind drift.
The HeliSpread fertilizer spreader (Red 1 Fabrication) has improved the accuracy and efficiency of aerial fertilizer spreading. The state of art aerial spreader produces an even 40m spread, this is double the area of conventional older aerial spreaders, meaning we have the ability to apply product at rates as low as 3Kg per hectare or up to 700Kg per hectare in one pass, in conjunction with GPS precise guidance in the helicopter our pilots and clients can be sure of the end result of coverage.

With Central Queensland’s vast distances between properties, cattle and feeding yards, the rugged and often inaccessible or tough to reach spots, aerial mustering is a logical solution. All of our mustering pilots have extensive mustering background, which promotes low-stress livestock handling.

Sugar Slaves; Australian South Sea Islanders are descendants of the Pacific Islands Blackbird trade.
Australian South Sea Islanders are descendants of the Pacific Islands Blackbird trade that started in NSW 1847 by Benjamin Boyd then the influx to QLD in 1863: Between 1863 and 1904 about 60,000 Pacific Islanders were transported to Queensland, where they toiled to create the sugar plantations of the far north. Some of these islanders moved there willingly on the promise of income, whilst others were kidnapped from their island homes. Pacific Islanders were ‘recruited’ from various islands including the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu (then the New Hebrides) and the Loyalty Islands of New Caledonia. This human trafficking is euphemistically known as ‘blackbirding’. The Islanders worked in harsh conditions in the Queensland sugar fields, conditions were akin to slavery. According to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, conditions varied from plantation to plantation depending on how considerate the owners and overseers were. Abuse of the Islanders included being beaten, being deprived of food or leisure time, medical neglect and sometimes separation of married couples. In the late 19th century trade unions in Australia were fighting for workers’ rights but the Pacific Islander workers of Queensland were banned from organising as a group. They were forbidden by law from striking and from leaving their place of employment. Workers who left without permission or ‘absconded’ faced three months imprisonment. Because the Pacific Islanders were paid so poorly compared to other unskilled workers in Australia, they were seen by some as a threat to employment. Opposition to these non-white immigrants came in some cases from those involved in the labour movement. They did not object when the Commonwealth decided to deport most Pacific Islanders between 1904 and 1908 as part of the implementation of the Immigration Restriction Act 1901 (often referred to as the ‘White Australia policy’). In the southern states of Australia there were others, including those in labour movement, who took a different view and called for fair treatment of the Pacific Island workers. After Federation a few thousand Pacific Islanders were not deported and were permitted to remain in Australia. Today north Queensland is home to more than 20,000 of their descendants. The Call for Recognition: a report on the situation of Australian South Sea Islanders, Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission, 1992 – cited in ‘The Call for Recognition’, Department of the Premier and Cabinet (Queensland) which has still not been actioned in the twenty first century.
