Christiansted is small town on the island of Saint Croix in the Virgin Islands.
Christiansted was the capital of the Danish West Indies from 1755 to 1871 and is a charming town with distinctive Danish architecture.
On the video you will see the the old Danish Customs House and Fort Christiansvaern - Well-preserved Danish yellow brick fort from the late 1700s , continue the Scale House, Steeple Museum - walking through Company Street and passing the old pharmacy building to the market Square, and back through Main Street passing the Catholic and Protestant churches - passing the Government House and through Strand Gade.

Did you know the island that Hotel on the Cay is on is actually called Protestant Cay.
It is said that during the 1600s, only Catholics were allowed burials on St. Croix, people of other faiths were buried on Protestant Cay.

(Video is leaving the island) See more on our FB page! Today I took a water taxi over to Hotel on the Cay, it was so beautiful! The water was crystal clear and so blue!! Favorite spot so far that I've visited. Water Taxi $5.00 round trip.. The Island has great water activities and a bar/restaurant on site with bathrooms. Hotel area for guests only.

Frederiksted is a small town on the west end of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. It is home to Fort Frederik, constructed to protect the town from pirate raids and attacks from rival imperialist nations. It was named after Frederick V of Denmark, who purchased the Danish West Indies in 1754.
The emancipation of slaves was proclaimed on July 3, 1848, at Fort Frederik on the waterfront.
Frederiksted maintains its original seven street by seven street city design and is host to several historic structures. Among them are the protestant Church, St. Patrick's Catholic Church built in the 1840s and its new renovatedprimary school, the Customs House, the 19th Century Apothecary,
