Dunkowiczki Fort Przemysl Poland
The well-preserved GHW XI fort presents high scientific values as one of the two artillery forts enclosed by two ramparts, erected during the third stage of construction of the fortress and preserved in the Fortress of Przemyśl. It participated in a combat during the first and third siege in 1914 and 1915. As a crucial part of the system of fortifications which formed the Fortress of Przemyśl, it remains a valuable historical monument of European importance.

Przemysl oroszlánjai
Przemyśl az Osztrák–Magyar Monarchia egyik legjelentősebb erődvárosa, nevét a Nagy Háború tette halhatatlanná. A XIX. században kiépített erődrendszer többszörösen tagolt, nyolc védőkörletre osztott, két fő vonalra támaszkodott: a külső védvonalat 15, a belső védvonalat 19 överőd képezte.
A védők emlékét Budapesten Sződy Szilárd oroszlánalakos szobra (1932) őrzi a Margit-híd budai hídfőjénél.
A filmet a Digitális Legendárium Munkacsoport készítette a HM Hadtörténeti Intézet és Múzeum szakmai irányításával.

Russian siege of the fortress of Przemysl - 1914/1915
Блокада крепости Перемышль - 4 (17) сентября 1914 - 9 (22) марта 1915
The Siege of Przemysl - September 24, 1914 - March 22, 1915
The Siege of Przemyśl was the longest siege of the GreatWar and a crushing defeat for Austria-Hungary against the Russian attackers. Przemyśl was a fortress town on the River San and a Galician stronghold. The investment of Przemyśl began on September 24, 1914 and was briefly suspended on October 11 due to an Austro-Hungarian offensive. The siege resumed again on November 9 and the Austro-Hungarian garrison surrendered on March 22, 1915 after holding out for a total of 133 days. Among the captured were nine generals, ninety-three senior staff officers, and 2500 other officers. Emperor Nicholas II paid the town a visit shortly after.
The fall of Przemyśl led many to believe that Russia would now launch a major offensive into Hungary. This anticipated offensive never came, but the loss of Przemyśl was a serious blow to Austro-Hungarian morale. A further blow to Austria-Hungary was the fact that Przemyśl was only supposed to be garrisoned by 50,000, yet over 110,000 Austro-Hungarians surrendered with the fortress, a much more significant loss. The Russians held Przemyśl until the summer of 1915 when the Gorlice-Tarnow Offensive pushed back the Russian front in Galicia. Przemysl stayed in German hands until October 1918 at which point Eastern Galicia left the Austro-Hungarian Empire and became part of the newly created independent state of Poland. The Austro-Hungarian army never recovered from its losses in the winter of 1914-1915 and the Habsburgs would rely henceforth on German assistance both in their sector of the Eastern Front and in the Balkans.
