USA: Massachusetts – In the footsteps of John F. Kennedy
We take a trip back to the 60s to Boston and Cape Cod to explore the villages, beaches, and family homes that inspired John F Kennedy. While following in his footsteps we stay at intimate hotels, visit several of the 15 unique towns that make up Cape Cod, discover arts and crafts shops, fishing harbours and visit the National Seashore, a park and wildlife sanctuary created by Kennedy to protect the coastal eco-systems. Stops include: the Kennedy Compound at Hyannis Port; JFK Library and Museum in Boston with its very comprehensive exhibit on his life; dinner in his booth at the Union Oyster House; and Omni Parker House, where he announced his intention to run for the Senate and where he proposed to Jackie. July 28, 1960 - Press Conference of Senator John F. Kennedy in Hyannis Port, Mass.
I believe that by 1961-62-63, unless the United States takes immediate action, that there is danger that we will slip into a position. When Governor Rockefeller has said this very precisely in recent days - that we will slip into a position where we will not be able to carry out a second strike. Now I don't think there is any doubt that the belligerent and bellicose attitude displayed by the Communists in recent days and weeks is because they believe that the balance of power is shifting in their direction. And as the next President of the United States must negotiate over Berlin, and he must negotiate over other questions, and because I believe we should meet our commitments, I believe we should make a greater effort in the field of national defense. If we are wrong, then perhaps we will have appropriated unnecessary money.
