Washington State Ferries, M.V. Cathlamet, Landing at Mukilteo Terminal/Dock, January of 2011
The Cathlamet landing (docking) at the Mukilteo ferry terminal. The Cathlamet is owned by Washington State Ferries - Washington State Department of Transportation - which is the largest ferry system in the United States, and third largest world wide. The Cathlamet carries 130 cars, is 328 feet long by 79 feet wide, and travels typically between 10 and 17 knots on her usual run between Mukilteo and Clinton just north of Seattle. She was built in Seattle in 1981 for WSDOT/WSF, and is about in the middle (size wise) for the WSF fleet of 23 double-ended vessels. If you look in the center pilothouse window, you can see the Captain maneuvering the vessel into the slip which can be hard this time of year on Puget Sound due to cross winds and currents.
Riding the new Wahkiakum County Ferry- Sep. 24, 2015
The newly installed vessel, the Oscar B, replaced the 50+ year old Wahkiakum vessel earlier this year. Like its predecessor, the Oscar B is a toll ferry, $5 to ride from Puget Island, Washington to Westport, Oregon going southbound, vice versa going northbound. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to cross the Columbia River both ways.
This is a video I filmed crossing the ferry earlier today. It is not the full ride, but rather a compilation of various short video clips I recorded while aboard the boat.

Lewis and Clark bridge into Oregon
Leaving Longview Washington via the Lewis and Clark bridge over the Columbia River. Scenes of timber yards. I've seen it filled more than in these clips. Looking down across the rivger back into Washington. The light play on the bridge is mesmerizing.
