Puhinui Stream Forest Trail, Totara Park
We visited Totara park in December 2016 and walked through the Puhinui Stream Forest Trail.
The Puhinui Stream Forest Trail was gorgeous with the sunlight dappling the native ferns and palms.

Howick Historical Village, Auckland, New Zealand
Howick Historical Village is a re-creation of a New Zealand colonial village using houses and cottages saved from the surrounding Auckland suburb of Howick.
The Village is open to the public every day of the year (except Christmas Day, New Year's Day, ANZAC day, and Good Friday) from 10am-4pm. On the third Sunday of each month (excluding December) Live Days are held, in which the Village comes to life with many costumed volunteers re-enacting daily life in Victorian New Zealand times. There is an admission fee, parking is free, and a cafe is on-site.
The Village is a popular destination for school groups on their LEOTC studies. School holiday programmes are offered once or twice in each holiday period.
The little church is used most weekends for weddings or naming ceremonies, and the surrounding grounds (including Victorian period gardens, wagon, and 30 historic buildings) make the perfect backdrop for unique wedding, family photography or promotional photography.

Big Totara Reserve
A relaxing walk in the real Southland bush. This land is prehistoric. The giant Totara tress are a 1,000 years old.
I've turned off my talking, so you can enjoy the beauty of this place.
Let me know what you think?
It's not my normal type of clip, but I just wanted to share this special place with you all so much.

Okura bush walkway
Okura Bush Walkway is situated close to Whangaparoa on Auckland's North shore, only about 28km from Auckland's CBD.
The track starts at the Haigh Access Road entrance and passes through coastal kauri forest along the Okura River estuary up to the historic Dacre Cottage, roughly 4.2km one way. From there we followed the coastal walk back which can only be done on low tide.
This is a very popular walkway that passes through regenerating
coastal kauri forest along the Okura River estuary, you will find a cleaning station at the start of the track to help fight against kauri dieback, please take the time to clean your gear.
Its a well maintained track that includes a lot of steps and some timber broad walks to protect the kauri roots. The track ends at Karepiro Bay, from there its just a short beach walk to the historic Dacre Cottage. Stick to the track and stay well away from nesting birds.
The Dacre Cottage was built in the 1850's and was used as an abattoir at some point, but during the early 1980's it had deteriorated through neglect and vandalism but
was restored in 1984 by voluntary labour.
The grounds are available for use as not just a picnic spot, but for overnight camping as well, for more information please follow the link below:

Trying out the new trails at Totara Park
Today I tried the new intermediate trails at totara park. They are short but fun trails that you can do over and over again. Only downside I can think of are the loose rocks that can be a bit sketchy at speed but that's just because the trails are new.
