This is our first of many videos that we planned to cover the amazing hidden gems of the Amritsar.
Amritsar was very important city and has had its glory uplifted during the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. His period is considered to be the Golden Era of Punjab when the people felt safe and witnessed prosperity. It gave rise to a lot of great art and architecture work in the city. One of the long-standing architectures from the King's time is a forgotten place called Pun Kanjri.
Listen to Michelle explaining about this beautiful monument.

About Me
I am a Chandigarh based fashion & wedding photographer, born in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. At the age of Eighteen I decided to move to Chandigarh where I got into Commercial Photography and also earned a degree in Graphic Arts. By the time I was twenty-one I moved to Mumbai and begun work with great photographers there for an year.
I got my first break with Lakme India Fashion Week while living in Mumbai when I was just twenty-two at that time. I continued work in Femina and Gladrags. In 2006, I thought of returning back to Chandigarh and then I started my own business in Commercial and Fashion Photography for the local high profile clients those otherwise had to hire, photographers from other regions. During this period I also experienced the creative Wedding and Event Photography and immersed myself completely into them along with Fashion Photography.
I like working with people, telling stories and creating character in my images. While I am taking care of regional clients, I keep working on various National/International assignments while offering turnkey solutions to the clients anywhere in the world.
Having achieved so much in such less time, I still feel that my journey has just begun.

At the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is the holiest gurdwara (religious complex) of the Sikh religion. It’s at the end of a causeway, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar tank (lake), where pilgrims bathe.

The tragic incident had left a deep scar on the country, and a memorial was constructed post the independence for the innocents who lost their lives in this devastating incident. Established by the government of India in 1951, the massacre memorial was inaugurated by Dr Rajendra Prasad on 13th April 1961. The place has been turned into a beautiful park and is managed by the Jallianwala Bagh National memorial trust.

People from all across the country visit this place to witness the Beating Retreat Ceremony that is held every day before sunset. This ceremony includes the closing of the international gates and lowering the flags of both the countries. The flag ceremony is conducted by the Indian Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers since 1959.
5.Tarn Taran Sahib:
Gurudwara Shri Tarn Taran Sahib was built by the fifth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Arjan Dev. It is located 22 kms from Amritsar, in the village of Tarn Taran Sahib. Built in the Mughal style of architecture, the gurudwara is famous for having the largest Sarovar.

The battle of Ram's Ashwamedha force with Luv-Kush is said to have taken place here. The gurukul of the twins, situated in the temple compound, is regarded as an architectural wonder by pilgrims.
