Papermaking in Puli, Taiwan, at the Guangxing Paper Mill
The video shows a large sheet of paper being pulled and later dried on a hot surface. This seems to be a machine-assisted process of hand-papermaking. One sheet of paper is formed at a time by dipping the mold into a vat of pulp, scooping up a thin layer of pulp and discarding any excess. Then, while holding the mold level and shaking it from side to side as the water drains. This interlocks the fibers into a smooth, even mat.

1995年1月17日，規模7.2的阪神‧淡路大地震。使得日本神戶長田區的野田北部有70.4%的房屋全毀，轄區內的鷹取教會也被燒得只剩下一尊耶穌像。 東京的坂茂建築師運用紙建築為社區居民打造一處集會所和教堂雙重身份的紙教堂(Paper Dome)。1999年9月21日，芮氏7.3的大地震襲擊台灣中部，埔里地區受創嚴重。神戶的Paper Dome2005年5月29日舉辦完最後一場彌撒後，進行解體作業。6月23日，所有的物件運送到台灣埔里。2008年1月25日，在桃米社區舉辦了千人立柱活動重建紙教堂。

Factory owners refuse to let Puli paper making industry die
Puli was renowned for its water quality during the Japanese colonial era and soon became a center for producing handmade paper. But automation and higher labor costs threaten the industry. Just six factories still produce handmade paper, down from a peak of about 50. But the few that remain are committed to keeping this important cultural heritage alive. From top to bottom, this master uses a bamboo screen to begin fashioning the piece of paper. In fewer than 10 seconds, a piece as thin as a strand of silk is produced.This is a traditional paper factory in Puli, one of just six in Taiwan that makes paper by hand. Guanyin Waterfall
There are two parts of Guanyin Waterfall (觀音瀑布), outer waterfall and inner waterfall. Outer waterfall can be reached within 5 minutes from entrance by foot, and it's around 20-meter height. The inner waterfall is more magnificent. The height is around 60 meters. Between these two, there are many small waterfalls along the trail.
Guang Xing Paper Mill
Papermaking, briefly is a process of fabric re-combination. Different paper is made of different fabric. The fabric comes from many kinds of raw material, such as mulberry trees, straw, bamboo, jute, rattan, and soon. After learning the this technique, you can also make your own paper here in Guang Xing Paper Mill (廣興紙寮).
