FOLLOW ME TO TAIWAN • Cing Jing & Puli | cherylsaurus
Here's vlog #1 of my 2015 trip! The first part of my 10 day trip was spent at Cing Jing, which is probably my favourite place out of my whole trip. The cold weather, the peace and quiet, the cute sheeps I got to pet and the kittens at the villa made it perfect. Pop this description open for details on everything! ✌

1:11 — 阿財虱目魚 / Opens 10 PM - 5 AM. No. 53, Neijiang St, Wanhua District
•••••• ➫ PLEASE, for the love of God, when you are in Taiwan, you must try 滷肉飯 (lu rou fan) which is braised pork on rice and trust me, you will drift off to heaven on the spot and will have multiple dreams of this pork that melts in your mouth.

•••••• ➫ My mother booked a driver who picked us up from the Taichung station and dropped us off at the farm and proceeded to drop off our luggage at the 55km Villa! Usually these drivers' contacts are passed around via word of mouth or can be found recommended in blog posts/vlogs.
You can also take a shuttle bus from Taichung station. Check out services like OK BUS (cingjingbus.tw / main hotline:886-49-2801399). From Taichung Railway station / Taichung High Speed Rail station, there are Nantou buses bound for Cing Jing at various timings. Just make sure you get your tickets before boarding the bus and take note of the bus number and bus stop!

7:48 — Puli (埔里)
•••••• ➫ Puli Township is an urban township in Nantou County, Taiwan. Do check for the bus timings. We managed to catch a bus that stops right outside our villa to go down the mountain to Puli. It is not as cold in Puli, as you probably noticed we were slowly removing our layers of clothes as the day went by.

Review Puli Town Night Market
Review Puli Town Night Market
Puli Town Night Market, or called Puli Town Holiday Night Market because it only open on Fridays and weekends, is a huge night market with over 12000 square meter of space for 550 vendors. Situated on the memorial site of the 921 earthquake where they record and preserve the history of rebuilding Puli Township, the night market is also dedicated to the remembering spirit and promoting the tourism in Puli to its former glory. The night market set up charity and non-profit stalls at the entrance in order to help the ones that loss in the earthquake which is very different from any other night market.
Only open 3 days a week, Friday to Sunday, Puli Town Holiday Night Market starts from 5 pm to around 11 pm. Fridays would be the best day to visit, when the most vendors open on this day. With free parking space for all vehicles, it’s a very convenient holiday night market. It is the largest night market in Nantou, the market offered like any other night market, shops, food and games. Exotic and local snacks include taco yaki, braised and fried snacks, stinky tofu, tempura, crepe and larger stalls like steaks and Mongolian Barbecue. Due to the large space large air castles and trampoline are able to set up in the night market. Make sure to pay a visit if you are in Nantou for the weekend, half for charity and half for the fun.
Taiwanese Tugou in Puli
Three adorable puppies down the street from my grandpa's house in Puli, Nantou County, Taiwan. If I could have, I would've taken the brindle one home with me. I'm telling the little white guy that he's the bravest -- he charged right up to be petted, whereas the other two were curious, but slightly more hesitant. Their momma, chained to a pole, is barking in the background.
ACTUALLY AWESTRUCK | Puli, Taiwan
I decided to set up in Puli for a couple days, mainly to visit have a day trip to Sun Moon Lake. But of course there was a couple things to see in Puli.
I went to Chung Tai Chan Monastery. This is an amazing building. I was actually awestruck by it. I also went to the geographical centre of Taiwan because I'm a geography nerd.
