Vlog #25: Stavanger, Norway || KJERAGBOLTEN & PULPIT ROCK
Days 90 - 92
We flew with Scandinavian Airlines from London to Stavanger. We stayed at Stavanger Lille Hotel. On our first day we went with a tour bus that left from Stavanger. It took us to Øygardstøl and from there we hiked to Kjerag. We got to see the amazing Kjeragbolten and to have the unforgettable experience of standing on it!
The following day we did another tour where we firstly caught the ferry, and then the bus to start the Preikestolen hike. The scenery was beautiful. We started the hike walking through fog, but as we got higher up we were higher than the clouds, which gave some breathtaking views. We eventually made it to Pulpit Rock, and spent some time there before returning to Scavenger.

As some of you might know, my family lives in Norway. One summer we took a family trip to Stavanger and got to hike the famous Prekestolen, otherwise known as Pulpit Rock! This video will show you exactly how to get there and what to expect.
BONUS: Epic drone footage of the cliffsides and fjords.
Afterwards, we explore the urban surroundings of Stavanger then venture over to the well preserved 18th century neighborhood side.

Hike to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) in Norway
In this video we take a hike up to a big cliff called Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). It's a hike that leads you to some cliffs that go almost 2000 feet straight down into Lysefjord. It was one of the most amazing places we saw while we were there. Seemed dangerous because there were no fences. Of course I took that opportunity to dangle off the edge and get a good (but crazy) view..

Stavanger & Pulpit Rock Norway Travel Vlog: Part 2
Hi guys!
Welcome to part two of my Norway Travel Vlog! We road trip to Odda from Bergen to hike Trolltunga, which will be in a separate vlog, then we end our trip in Stavanger for two days. You’ll get a glimpse of Odda, which was honestly my FAVORITE place I saw in Norway. We stayed at the Hardanger Hotel and had an incredible view of Odda. After our Trolltunga hike, we road-tripped to Stavanger. In our first day in Stavanger, we explore Gamle(Old) Stavanger, eat at Fisketorget, see Geoparken and relax at several cafes! On our last day, we hike Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), eat at Fisketorget (Ok, we were obsessed) and enjoy our last day in beautiful Norway! Next up is our week in Croatia. As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching!

4K | Preikestolen Cliff (Pulpit Rock) in Norway
The Preikestolen (Norwegian for pulpit) is a natural occurring rock platform with a near vertical 600 m (2000 ft) cliff at the Lysefjorden in southern Norway near Stavanger.
I visited the pulpit rock in spring 2017. On the first day it was foggy throughout the day. The next morning the clouds cleared up and the stunning view was visible. The sunny weather attracted hundreds of visitors.

Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock is a famous tourist attraction in Norway. Towers 604 meters over the Lysefjord. It's one of Rogaland county's most visited destination and one of the best hikes in Norway.
The main hiking season for Pulpit Rock is from April to October and it'll take around four to five hours. It does get VERY crowded so try to arrive early in the morning.
After experiencing the hike I don't think it's the easiest but it is doable. Take breaks and bring water. It's all uphill so expect steep, steep steps. Right at the start it's all stairs!
Know that you can also experience Preikestolen from a fjord sightseeing boat or a car ferry.
During most of our time in Norway we stayed at Airbnbs (homes/rooms rented out by their owners). Airbnb is a WAYYY cheaper alternative to hotels. And you'll find in Norway - it's the way to go. Here's $40 free credit to get you started →

The Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) is no doubt the best known tourist attraction and has been a magnet for tourists for over 150 years. The characteristic mountain shelf 604 metres (1980ft) over Lysefjord has been visited by hundreds of thousands throughout the years.
From the Preikestolhytta, a 7 km traiI climbs the rest of the 350 metres (1148ft) to the top. Good shoes and physical health are necessary for the 2 - 3 hour hike.
