Tulum (Deutsch)

Tulum (English)
In this video we traveled through Tulum and we will give you a couple of tips and places to visit. Our first stop was Muyil, where you can go deep into the jungle visiting the archaeological zone and then walk to a lagoon.
Then we visited the Kaan Luum cenote, an incredible place known for its colors and crystal blue water. Afterwards we went to Playa Paraiso, a beautiful beach.
The next day we visited Coba (we recommend you to go there when it opens, because after 10am it is impossible to walk and of course to rent a bicycle).
Then we stop outside the archaeological zone to eat in a restaurant (very affordable), ending up traveling to a natural reserve called Punta Laguna where, if you are lucky, you can find spider monkeys in their natural habitat (we recommend you go with a guide, the terrain looks like a maze and they know where the monkeys are). That same day we stopped at one of the most beautiful cenotes we know called El Gran Cenote.
At the end of our trip we stopped at the ruins of Tulum, where if you are lucky the entrance to the sea is open. We recommend you to take a lot of water because the place is hot and finding shade is a little difficult - there are no shops or bathrooms these are outside the area.
Costs:
►Muyil: $50 pesos MX + $50 pesos MX for the lagoon
►Kaan Luum $100 pesos MX
►Playa Paraiso (Free)
►Coba parking $50 pesos, entrance $75 pesos, bike $50 pesos
►Punta Laguna, entrance $150 pesos, Guide $500 pesos

Yucatan Peninsula, Punta Laguna.
Many years ago, when the small Mayan village of Punta Laguna -located between Chichen Itza and Cancun, in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula- was founded, the locals decided to protect the forest around the beautiful lagoon. Years later, the Mexican government agreed to their petitions and declared the OTOCH MA'AX YETEL KOOH reserve on June 05, 2002. Meaning home of the spider monkey and the puma in Mayan language, the reserve is a small heaven for numerous creatures including spider and black howler monkeys, ocellated turkeys, Morelett's crocodiles, ocelots and pumas. Visitors are always welcome and are offered many activities to enjoy nature in an environmentally-friendly way. Local guides could be hired at the entrance and are a real asset to locate monkeys and other wildlife. So, if you are in Cancun, Tulum, Playa del Carmen or anywhere in the Mayan Riviera, consider visiting Punta Laguna and the OMYK reserve for a great natural experience!

Punta Laguna Monkey Reserve, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
We hire a guide and trek through a jungle, canoe through alligator infested waters and zip-line to the other side of a lake...all in a quest to see Howler and Spider monkeys in their natural habitat. This remote nature reserve on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula is located 20km north-east of Coba and there's a small Maya community nearby. This is Adventure Unscripted!
Cenote Punta Laguna
Only 12 miles from the archeological site of Cobá, on the way to Nuevo Xcan, Punta Laguna or Reserve of Spider monkey is set into the Mayan jungle of southern Yucatan and the adjacent state of Quintana Roo. It surrounds the beautiful lagoon of the same name, the main water source for the inhabitants and the wildlife.
An altar is mainly composed by a cross, an alcoholic Mayan beverage and prepared food. For many, the cross would seem related to Christianity but in fact it represents the four
cardinal points. When the Spaniards came, the meaning changed and the cross was modified by putting on a Mayan dress, sign of rebellion and and rejection to the new religion. The alcoholic beverage called Balché, made of the tree bark of the same name, is used to honor the Gods and calm the spirit down. The food, pre-cooked inside a hole in the ground, is ofered to Mother Nature, then it is shared among the families to be eaten, nothing is wasted.
