Time Lapses - Punta della Dogana and Tadao Ando
The restoration work of Punta della Dogana, based on the project of Tadao Ando, mobilized an average of 120 workers for a total 300,000 hours under the direction of Dottor Group.
80% of the perimeter of Punta della Dogana borders on the water of the Lagoon. Consequently, the site logistics were entirely carried out via water.
A temporary port, and the use of barges and bontoons made it possibile to handle over 10,000 tons of different materials, with over 2,000 trips from the shore.
This film was shot entirely with digital reflex camera.
Special thanks to Tadao Ando, Comune di Venezia e Agenzia del Demanio.

Il restauro di Punta della Dogana - Venezia

Places to see in ( Venice - Italy ) Punta della Dogana
Punta della Dogana is an art museum in Venice's old customs building, the Dogana da Mar. It also refers to the triangular area of Venice where the Grand Canal meets the Giudecca Canal, and its collection of buildings: Santa Maria della Salute, Patriarchal Seminary of Venice, and Dogana da Mar at the triangle's tip.
Punta della Dogana is located between the Grand and Giudecca Canals at the tip of an island in the Dorsoduro district. Adjacent to each other are the Dogana da Mar, Patriarchal Seminary, and Santa Maria della Salute. It is diagonal from the Piazza San Marco. The point was used for docking and customs as early as the beginning of the 15th century. The temporary structures built to store merchandise and customs workers were replaced by the Punta della Dogana, whose construction began in 1677.
The museum's art is housed in and around the Dogana da Mar building. It was built between 1678 and 1682 as a customs house. The arcade styles reflect their construction in different eras. Atop the building are statues of Atlas, built to represent the supremacy of the Republic of Venice. The two slaves hold a golden ball upon which Giuseppe Benoni's Fortune stands. The 17th-century statue turns in the wind. The last renovation of the building was done by Alvise Pigazzi in 1838.
Complex's Elisa Carmichael called Punta della Dogana's Prima Materia show of about 80 works from the Pinault Collection an absolute must-see outside of the 2013 Venice Biennale. Exibart's Jacqueline Ceresoli had similar praise for the show.
Pinault commissioned a statue for the tip of Punta della Dogana from Charles Ray upon receiving approval from the city to start the museum. Ray made an eight-foot-tall boy holding a frog by its leg intended as a public sculpture called Boy with Frog. The sculpture's permit was set to be negotiated four times annually. Boy with Frog was originally encased upon the museum's July 2009 opening after protests following its installation. The city moved in early 2013 to replace the statue with a reproduction of the streetlamp once situated there. Its spokesperson said that the sculpture's installation was designed to be temporary. Ray refused an offer to relocate the sculpture to Palazzo Grassi, opting to put the sculpture into storage. Independent curator Francesco Bonami wrote in La Stampa that the removal was administrative cowardice and the lamppost represented cultural darkness.

Another Sun (original song) | live in Venezia (punta della Dogana) 2019
Live in the lagoon of Venezia (Venice), Italy, performing my original song Another Sun on a beautiful sunny afternoon in April at the punta della Dogana area.
Written by Federico Borluzzi.
I wanted to share this video todayto celebrate the beauty of Venice and to wish the town will soon recover from the recent damages caused by huge floods and exceptional high tides.
Performed on April 1st, 2019, at the punta della Dogana, which is the traingular area of venice where the Grand Canal meets the Giudecca Canal. Behind me, on the other side of the canale, you can see the famous piazza San Marco's iconic bell tower of San Marco Basilica (San Marco square). The big church in front of me, which can be seen sometimes in this video, is called Santa Maria della Salute.
I wanted to play this son in San Marco square, but police stopped me and told me it wasn't allowed to play music anywhere in the centre.
Performed with Yamaha GL1 Guitalele, Hohner Blues Harp harmonica in the key of C and vocals.
Many thanks to my special camerawoman Tako Petriashvili.
You can watch the original official video for this song, with the audio from my Another Sun album, here:

LYRICS:
Another Sun
Come the morning, there will be another sun
Another day, another battle lost or won
All the darknesses will bounce
So let’s forget them just at once
Everybody knows
Though everybody hurts
Everybody hopes
Another sun, another sun
Another sun will come
My old lady, don’t you cry
‘Cause in the end everything’s gonna be alright
Now it’s not time to shed a tear
Oh, don’t you think the end is near?
Everybody knows
Though everybody hurts
Everybody hopes
Another sun, another sun
Another sun will come
And though it seems so dark
And it seems so cold
And there’s nothing to be told
Not even a song
Just wait for another sun
Wait for another sun
Wait for another sun
To call
Everybody knows
Though everybody hurts
Everybody hopes
Another sun, another sun
Another sun will come
And everybody knows
Everybody hopes
Everybody knows
That everybody hurts
Everybody knows
That everybody hopes
And everybody hopes
Everybody hopes
That another sun
Another sun, another sun
Another sun will come
