Pre and post war London Vintage Taxis gathering -
to pay their respects at Alan Withey's funeral - 26 February 2015. Alan was president of the London Vintage Taxi association. He was a London Taxi driver. He owned and restored several pre war London cabs. The funeral took place at Croydon Crematorium and a reception afterwards at Purley Downs Golf Club. Alan was well respected and liked by those who new him. RIP

Hello everyone, and a very warm welcome to my very first vlog on my channel, as well as the new intro! Today we had a spell of very warm sunshine up to 18ºc in parts of London, so I decided to take a journey back to an old favourite place of mine - Purley Oaks in South Croydon and visit a rather peaceful and beautiful place in the Surrey hills and countryside - the 17th century Selsdon Park Hotel & Golf Club and documentate it too as my first vlog. I hope everyone enjoys it, because I certainly did and it was fun travelling on the 1996 Stock again and the unexpected Class 442 Wessex Electrics to windowhang from! God Bless xx I might do more of these vlogs now!

The moment a furious cyclist armed with huge 'zombie knife' smashes car window | ITV News

A furious cyclist wielding a huge 'zombie knife' smashed the window of a car in a terrifying confrontation on a busy south London street.

The 19-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf tried to escape but collided with another vehicle as he did so.

He eventually managed to run as the cyclist tried to force open the passenger door of the Golf.

The row appeared to start after the driver pulled out in front of the bike on the busy London Road in Croydon, causing the cyclist to swerve.

At Sanderstead CC we have a partnership with our local golf club, Farleigh, which is part of the Foxhills group.

We thought as its nearing the end of the cricket season, we would try our hand at golf, so Tyler, DC, Longcock joined our cameraman for a round of Foursomes at this lovely course. Here is a short film of the day.

Watch out for Longcock's big brother by the bunker at the 6th, a special T's Teas from Tee to Green, Dallen getting lost in the rough, and much more......

We hold our annual awards dinner at Farleigh in November where the events staff are excellent and the food and drink is superb. We hope to post a film from the evening later in the year.

This is a nice route to cycle, it's all together 50 Km or 31 Miles which makes a good morning/afternoon trip for an intermediate rider. For a beginner, after you have mastered the basics of riding a bicycle, and you have ridden a few shorter trips, this could be a nice day out.Riding to Box Hill, then sitting at the top for a bite to eat, having a rest enjoying the view, then making your way back.
If you are in London for tourism, this is a nice way to visit Surrey and the UK's countryside, the surroundings are beautiful, the Surrey Hills are one of the many beautiful areas to visit on by bike. Many Cycle Shops offer bicycle hire, so you can rent a bike and go by train out of the City.
From London you can carry the bike on the train to get to East Croydon, Purley or even Coulsdon Station and cycle from there.

close call the other morning, good job it was early morning and there wasn't any traffic coming towards me.

Exploring Creepy Abandoned Mine In The Woods

Exploring an old abandoned mine that I recently found on the edge of the woods. The access point is not for the faint-hearted!

I was alone so I didn't go in too far but the mine is rumored to have over 10 miles of tunnels, some of which potentially haven't been explored since it closed due to the bad air down there. I entered via what I believe to be the old ventilation drift & walked towards the old furnace which is still has some of the metalwork partially intact. Almost every tunnel leads to more tunnels shooting off in different directions... You could easily lose your bearings.

Whilst looking down the tunnel leading away from the furnace (which is full of rocks) I noticed something moving in the distance, it was likely a bat as I heard a lot of squeaking going on whilst I was down there some of which got caught on video.. But it's a little creepy to see something moving around along a tunnel whilst down there alone!

Disclaimer: DO NOT TRY THIS. Abandoned places are dangerous. I have visited this place several times prior so I knew what to expect which is why I went alone. I also made sure various safety arrangements were in place which is not shown on video as the video is for entertainment purpose only, not safety demonstration.
