Footage filmed on Friday shows Pushkin Boulevard cordoned off by police. The street is located just a few buildings away from the blast at Separ cafe that killed the leader of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko.
Forty-two-year-old Zakharchenko was taken to hospital shortly after the explosion where he died of his injuries. The local authorities' Minister of Finance Aleksandr Timofeev and two others were injured in the explosion. According to local reports, the explosive device was placed in a car near the cafe.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused the government in Kiev of being behind the attack.
Security Service of Ukraine's Press Secretary Elena Gitlyanskaya denied all the accusations, saying that the Ukraine Special Services had nothing to do with Zakharchenko's death. She believes his murder is a result of a conflict between local authorities.

Ukraine: its Donbass conflict | VPRO Documentary
In Ukraine, in the region of Donbass there is an ongoing conflict. How did this conflict start and how are people in the Donbass area dealing with this conflict that tears apart families and entire villages? Is Ukraine a divided country where war will destroy regions like the Donbass? A documentary about Ukraine, the conflict in the Donbass region and the people that have to live with it.
For over a year, a dirty battle has been going on in 'the Donbass', an area rich with coal and industry in East Ukraine. More than six thousand people have been killed so far. Jelle talks to the Russian rebels at the front. What kind of people are they? He also visits the Donetsk opera, which has a show every day - war or no war.
In this eight-part travel series the Dutch journalist and author Jelle Brandt Corstius travels through Russia and visits the neighbor countries Latvia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. What image do the Russians have of their neighbors and vice versa? What are the relations between the powerful Russia and the other former Soviet republics? And how do the countries around Russia treat their Russian inhabitants? A series about propaganda and identity.
On the Maidan, Kiev´s central square, in spring of 2014 the war started. Thousands of people demanded closer relations with Europe. After weeks of protests, the police intervened. One hundred people died. In Ukraine they are known as the Heavenly Hundred. President Yanukovych fled to Russia and the revolution started. And with the revolution came the war that would split the country in two. Dutch Journalist Corstius talks to people on the street and investigates the status quo and the way the population deals with the changes the country has gone through.
He visits the place in Odessa where on May 2 2014 46 pro-Russian activists died from suffocation in a former trade union building. They were under attack from pro-Ukrainian activists and a fire broke out. Until today it is not clear what caused it. This fire made many Russians leave for Ukraine to join the fight so that the war spread from Crimea to the entire eastern region of Ukraine.

'100 arrested' at anti-Putin rallies in Russia
Russian police are said to have detained at least 100 people at protest rallies against Vladimir Putin's election as president.
There were no arrests reported in Moscow's Pushkin Square, where organisers had gained permission to hold a rally and thousands chanted Russia without Putin.
But others were held elsewhere. Police said they detained about 50 people at an unauthorised protest in Moscow close to the headquarters of the Federal Security Service. Another 50 anti-Putin protesters were seen being arrested at another unofficial rally in St Petersburg.
Many Russians, especially in Moscow, are not going to accept Vladimir Putin as a legitimate president. And even if Putin survives March and the next two months prior to the inauguration, he's badly wounded, maybe even deadly wounded as a political leader and I have no doubt that he will not survive the next six years, said chess champion-turned-activist Garry Kasparov.
The demonstrators argue the vote was unfairly skewed in Vladimir Putin's favour.
Putin, the current prime minister and former president, won nearly 64 percent of the vote. He says he won a fair and open contest.

Renaissance of Novorossia: a tradition projected to the future
Novorossia (New Russia) is an old well-forgotten toponym related to the lands annexed to the Russian from Ottoman Empire in XVIII century by Catherine the Great. For the last 90 years these territories were administrated by Kiev. In modern terms this historic territory overlaid what is now Donetsk, Lugansk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhie, Nikolaev, Kherson and Odessa regions of Ukraine, populated by predominantly Russian-speakers and strongly opposing ultra-nationalist regime in Kiev which came to power as a result of coup d’état in February 2014.
The rebirth of Novorossia project was triggered by the blind ambitions of the regime in Kiev to impose anti-Russian ideology on the people feeling indissoluble link with their cultural Motherland. The video presents faces, monuments and landmarks of this fascinating country eager for renaissance under St.Andrew’s banner.

RUSSIA: FUNERALS OF MOSCOW BOMB VICTIMS
Russian/Nat
Final tributes have been paid to those who died in Tuesday's bomb attack in Moscow.
Eight people were killed in the blast that ripped through an underground passage in Pushkin Square.
Since the blast, hundreds of people have sought trauma counselling, according to officials at the Centre for Social and Forensic Medicine.
Chechen rebels are suspected of being behind the attacks, but so far no evidence of this has come to light.
Dozens of relatives and friends of Marina Leonova went to Vagankovskoye cemetery in downtown Moscow on Friday to pay the last respects to their slain friend.
Leonova was one of the seven people who died at the site of the explosion in Pushkin Square on Tuesday.
Another man died later in hospital, bringing the death toll to eight.
More than 90 other people were injured according to the Emergency Situations Ministry.
For many Muscovites the blast was a frightening reminder of the apartment bombings that killed some 300 people in Moscow and two other cities last September.
The authorities are trying to reassure nervous Muscovites, who are worried that the city faces a new campaign of terror bombings.
Officials often blame Chechens and the leaders of other ethnic groups for terrorist attacks.
Russian troops have been fighting Chechen separatists in the Caucasus for about one year.
In hopes of preventing any further terrorists attacks, security personnel are carrying out random checks on many people's identity papers.
On Thursday, security agents were called to examine suspicious objects found in building entrances and other public places, including a box at one of Moscow's main airports, Vnukovo.
Some turned out to be filled with garbage; all were deemed harmless, police said.
At the funeral on Friday many mourners said they feared more attacks.
SOUNDBITE: (Russian)
I feel so scared these days walking the streets, and even in my own home. You never know what to expect. At the very least I want them to shut down all those shops in underpasses.
SUPER CAPTION: Irina Lonidova, Moscow resident
Three days after the tragedy, hundreds of Muscovites continue to visit the site of the explosion to pay homage to the victims.
Dozens of candles have been lit at the concrete wall near the spot where the bomb went off.
Earlier on Friday the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, went to the scene with roses, which he laid alongside the other floral tributes to the dead.
Investigators have not announced any new arrests or breakthroughs in the case.
Two men, who had been questioned on Wednesday, were set to be released, the Interior Ministry press service said.
The men had matched witness descriptions of two people who left a bag in the passageway minutes before the explosion.
Chechen rebels are suspected of being behind the attack.
But the Interior Ministry press service said it had no evidence confirming Chechen involvement.
However, the First Deputy Chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, Colonel-General Valery Manilov, said that, in response to the tragedy, more resources would be made available for destroying the Chechen rebels.
Chechen rebel leaders have suggested that the Russian authorities staged the blast to feed anti-Chechen anger and justify continuing the military offensive.

More than 20 people were arrested outside the Ukrainian embassy in Moscow on Tuesday night following an 'Evening of Memory and Grief'. Dozens lit candles and laid flowers at the embassy entrance to pay their respects to victims of the conflict in southeast Ukraine.
Later, both pro-Kiev and anti-Kiev activists were detained after the former shouted anti-Putin chants and the latter tried to tie the St. George's ribbon to the embassy's fence. There had been confrontations earlier on Pushkin Square between the two groups. During the event, opposition activist Mark Galperin had bright green disinfectant thrown in his face.
