Apple picking at Green Mountain Orchards in Putney Vermont, USA by Achy Dad
What a day picking apples at Green Mountain Orchards! late in the season on Oct 30th, but the kids and I find a few trees FULL of yummy Cortland apples. Then we go to the hill and sun ourselves before heading down for a cider donut. I then drop my camera and the video ends with that shot.
For those living far away from apple trees, I did find a Vermont company called Vermont Village ( that sells Vermont-made, organic, no sugar added applesauce. I have not tried their product, but it looks solid to me. Their Vermont Village - Organic Applesauce Unsweetened - 4 x 4 oz. Cups (Pack of 2) is on Amazon at:

Last video with my cherished Canon Powershot S110! The last model before Canon moved the mics on top. Bad Canon...no donut. Top mics suck. They aren't pointed at the subject, and get dusk and such in them much more easily. Also, they much easier to hit with you fingers while doing selfie vlogs.

Vermont Shepherd cheeses are the oldest and most well known of the country’s sheep and mixed milk cheeses. David and Yesenia and their family pasture and milk the sheep, make and age the cheese on our 250 acre farm in Westminster West, Vermont. Vermont Shepherd cheeses are descended from a variety of Pyrenees mountain cheeses, which is fitting because a large half of our family is Spanish. The cheese has won awards for Best Farmhouse Cheese in the country and Best of Show in the American Cheese Society’s annual competition since 1993. Today our family makes cheese in small, 10 to 30 wheel batches. Vermont Shepherd has been featured in The New York Times, Gourmet, Food and Wine, Esquire, and more.

Trying to drive home in Halifax Vermont
Getting home is often a challenge when living in rural Vermont, however this spring there hasn't been bad weather yet. Not quite sure why our roads are is such poor shape. Many places have one foot deep ruts, sections where the road is washed away and further up the road is a one foot diameter sink hole that's about three feet deep.
Reedsburg - A Hub of Fun for Everyone
In the middle of the Driftless Area in central Wisconsin lies the city of Reedsburg, a city whose natural beauty offers some pretty breathtaking views and plenty of outdoor adventure! Hosts Mariah Haberman and Eric Paulsen take in all this growing community has to offer, starting with The Baraboo River. As the longest, free-flowing river in the country, the Baraboo River is spectacular for canoeing and kayaking, as Eric learns when he tackles the Lazy Beaver Canoe & Kayak race before taking to the skies in a helicopter at the Reedsburg Rotary Fly-in/Drive-in Breakfast. Meanwhile, Mariah heads downtown for Reedsburg Uncorked, a springtime wine walk where visitors can sip and sample their way through Reedsburg's numerous shops. Next, Mariah heads to Butterfest, Reedsburg's iconic summer festival, and plays a round of Bossy Bingo, which puts an...unusual twist on the classic game! Eric wraps up his trip with a visit to the Pioneer Log Village, where he learns about the daily life of Reedsburg's original settlers (dressed in traditional, pioneer garb, of course!), before diving in to the area's agricultural heritage with a look inside the studio of a local barn quilt artist. From outdoor recreation to some good, old fashioned country traditions, it's easy to see why Reedsburg is a hub of fun for everyone!

Wenatchee Valley may be known as the “Apple Capital of the World”, but there is one business out there that might challenge your perception of the area. With a funky, eclectic atmosphere and fun cult following, it is hard to believe the farm has only been in operation since 2002.
