A showcase of how mosque designs have evolved in Malaysia, Putra Mosque's Islamic-architecture artistically blends traditional designs, local craftsmanship and the use of indigenous materials. The mosque is modeled after Persian Islamic architecture of the Safavid period with elements derived from other Muslim cultures. Incorporating Malaysian, Persian and Arab-Islamic architectural designs, the main entrance to the mosque is fashioned in the likeness of public building gates in Muslim Persia.

Putrajaya Drone Flight: Putrajaya, officially the Federal Territory of Putrajaya (Malay: Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya), is a planned city and the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. The seat of government was shifted in 1999 from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya because of overcrowding and congestion in the former. Kuala Lumpur remains Malaysias national capital and is the seat of the King, the Parliament, and all the foreign embassies, and the countrys commercial and financial centre. Putrajaya was the idea of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. It became Malaysias third Federal Territory, after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan, in 2001. // Putrajaya is a city in Malaysia, south of Kuala Lumpur. Its known for its late-20th-century architecture including the Putra Mosque, made from rose-colored granite with a pink dome. Masjid Putra : The Pink Mosque | My Mosque
The second oldest mosque in Malaysia is also known as The Pink Mosque because of its rose-tinted granites. Until 2012, it is said to be the only mosque in the world with a unique pinkish hue. Masjid Putra highlights more than just the huge 160 meter minaret or its housing capacity of around 18,000 people. It is also a fusion of design elements from different mosques around the world.
The design of the mosque are primarily from Morocco and Baghdad, the carvings are from Egypt, and the stain glass from Germany. It is also inspired by Iranian mosque architecture (Persian Islamic architecture of the Safavid period). Built between 1997 and 1999, it is located near the Perdana Putra which houses the office of the Malaysian Prime Minister. The Masjid Putra is a very popular tourist destination in Putrajaya.

Putra Mosque : Putrajaya, Malaysia
Putra Mosque is one of the most beautiful and distinctive mosques in the world and becomes a famous tourist attraction and destination in Malaysia. It becomes one of the landmark and an attractive point in Putrajaya.
Its 116-metre minaret is influenced by the design of the Sheikh Omar mosque in Baghdad, while the basement wall of the mosque resembles that of the King Hassan mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. At 116m, it is one of the tallest minarets in the region and has five tiers, representing the Five Pillars of Islam.

THINGS TO DO IN PUTRAJAYA
Hey there guys! As per your recommendations - we have finally decided to visit Putrajaya which is only about 20min drive from Cyberjaya - our current location.
We started our day with the most iconic piece of architecture in a whole of Putrajya - The Putra Mosque. We were given a little tour by a very kind man which made our experience so much better.
After good two hours of mesmerizing the mosque, we made our way towards The Purdana Putra which is a federal government building. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go inside but the view from the outside was also very worthy.
After that, we cooled off by getting some ice cream and ended our day at beautiful botanical gardens; we walked around the lake, relaxed on the bench and saw so many beautiful couples taking their wedding pictures by the Moroccan Pavilion.
Such a hot day filled with so many beautiful sights! Cheers to you guys!

The pink-domed Putra Mosque is constructed with rose-tinted granite and can accommodate 15,000 worshippers at any one time. The basement wall of the mosque resembles that of the King Hassan Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco.
The mosque consists of three main functional areas - the prayer hall, the Sahn, or courtyard, and various learning facilities and function rooms. The prayer hall is simple and elegant, supported by 12 columns. The highest point below the dome is 250 feet above ground level.
The Sahn, landscaped with several decorative water features and bordered by colonnades, provides a huge yet welcoming and beautiful prayer space.
