AMAZING! 1995 KONE M vandal-resistant Tr. Scenic Elevator @ Puumalansalmi Bridge, Puumala, Finland
Filmed on 15.05.2019.
This beautiful scenic elevator is located in Puumala, a small community located next to Saimaa lake, the largest lake in Finland and the 4th largest natural freshwater lake in Europe, and this bridge was constructed in a postmodern style between September 1993 - October 1995, the opening was on 31.10.1995 (traffic on the bridge started on 6.10.1995). The elevator goes between the street (or market place) level, and the bridge level. The scenic elevator offers beautiful views of the area. Only the black bumpers have been deleted. It has the vandal-resistant KONE M-type fixtures, like on some late 1980s - early 1990s elevators made by KONE.
It doesn't have any hall lantern with chimes - just an indicator for the elevator coming or going. The digital floor indicator is a little bit weird and should be fixed. You can bring your own bicycle on this elevator - perfect if you are exploring the Saimaa region and landscapes with Puumala as the starting point or a stop. There is also a small guest harbour located here. Formerly, this bridge was known as the Saimaa bridge. It was built to deactivate the last cable ferry used for road traffic in Finland. It is 781 meters long and 13 meters wide.
There is a small café located on top of the elevator shaft, with stairs leading to it, from the bridge level. In the small tower itself, there are also stairs on the other side of it. There is an old church in this small community as well, and a lot of elderly people are living here. Puumala is well-known as one of the more popular places where one can rent summer-cottages in Finland, and some also own them here. The elevator is operated by Liikennevirasto of Finland.
This is the longer video. A shorter video of this amazing elevator can be found here:

It is located in the Southern Savonia region. The municipality has a population of 2,182 (31 January 2019) and covers an area of 1,237.75 square kilometres (477.90 sq mi) of which 443.17 km2 (171.11 sq mi) is water. The population density is 2.75 inhabitants per square kilometre (7.1/sq mi).
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
The main road route through the region is route 62, which connects to Mikkeli to the north and Imatra to the south.
Until the year 1995 a cable ferry connected the two sides of Puumalansalmi-strait. In 1995, the 781-metre-long (2,562 ft) bridge replaced the ferry. The bridge is a very dominant structure when looking Puumala town center from a distance.
Puumala has relatively good services compared to the amount of population. In the town center is situated a post office, an Alko store, a kiosk, several supermarkets and a few restaurants. The reason for the survival of these entrepreneurs is the arrival of summer inhabitants who triple the population of Puumala during the season.
In history it is remembered for being the site of a staged attack on Swedish soldiers, by men wearing Russian military uniforms, but not actually serving in the Imperial Russian Army, on 27 June 1788. This would allow Gustav III to declare a defensive war against the Russian Empire.
The Russian writer Maxim Gorky went into exile near the shores of Lake Saimaa for a period of time after his apartment was raided by the Black Hundreds in the aftermath of the Moscow Uprising of 1905. He wrote to his divorced wife Ekaterina, writing it's beautiful here, like a fairy tale.
The Puumala virus is named after this place as it was first isolated from samples from the Puumala area.
