For millennia, the Cascade Mountains have stood watch over the Pacific Northwest. Millions of people, attracted by their grandeur, have settled in their shadows. But the slumber of these majestic sentinels is a fitful one and geologists are monitoring their ominous rumblings. Could what they are hearing be a muted warning?
The Cascades are actually a chain of volcanoes part of the infamous Ring of Fire that encircles the Pacific Rim. When Mt. St. Helen's erupted, the Pacific Northwest experienced first hand the staggering power that loomed over them...could it happen again?
Journey with us to the Philippines, Japan and Mexico to discover how other people have survived and suffered alongside their volatile neighbors. As our own mountains rumble and growl from deep within, now is the time to ask: what will we do when our Sleeping Giants Wake?

A Call To Action: Ample Funding For Washington Schools
Despite having one of the nation's strongest constitutional mandates for education, Washington State continues to fall behind other states in providing the funding needed to deliver that education. Washington currently ranks 45th in the Nation in per-pupil spending and has the 46th largest class sizes in the country. This video gives an excellent overview of students, educators and programs that are affected by Washington's underfunding of basic education, and what YOU can do to make your voice heard at the Washington State legislative level.

a few billion dollars worth of war contracts in the last ten years since I had seen this place and it is still a shithole of a slummy town with very little substantive improvement or private real estate development. Shitty trailer parks and deteriorating retail space is prevalent in the absolute squalor that a lot of troops go home to in between wars these days.
This place really needs genuine real estate investment and development, not the current breed of speculative slumlords and do-nothing loan title squatters. Illegal immigrant and welfare housing is often better than what this nation's heroes often get. That needs to change.

The Nightmare World of Gang Stalking
More than 10,000 people worldwide claim they're the victims of a vast organized surveillance effort designed to ruin their lives, a phenomenon known as gang stalking. Mental health experts see gang stalking as a symptom of paranoia, but the self-identified victims who insist what they're experiencing is real have come together online and in support groups to share their stories.
VICE met up with a handful of Americans who claim their lives have been derailed by gang stalking to understand what serious consequences the phenomenon presents. Then we hear from Dr. Josh Bazell, one of many physicians who believes the victims of gang stalking are experiencing dangerous delusions that could be treated by mental health professionals.
