Travel to the heart of the Great Pyramid of Giza - the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World.
Built over four and a half thousand years ago, the pyramid is the tomb of the Pharaoh Khufu. You can pass through the solid stone blocks that make up the Pyramid’s core to explore its hidden passages and chambers.
The Great Pyramid’s architects and builders worked with great precision: the access corridors and chambers align almost perfectly on a north-south axis.

Great Pyramid Inn Review Giza, Egypt
The Great Pyramid Inn in Giza, Egypt is one of the greatest places I have ever stayed. The view is incredible and at $60 a night, it cant be beat. This is one of the closest hotels to the pyramids you can get. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are well kept.

Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids of Giza
Recorded October 30, 2009.
Each day the sun sets on the bustling city of Cairo, and the famous pyramids on the Giza plateau, south of Cairo, are absorbed into the night sky. These colossal structures are never out of sight completely, as they reawaken at night during the magnificent Sound and Light Show. Thousands of years have passed since the Pharaohs walked the Earth, but with your imagination, they will appear before your eyes. History comes to life with each show and provides the audience with a magical experience of learning about ancient Egypt, while staring up at the pyramids.
Each visit to the pyramids and the Sound and Light show is an enchanting experience not to be missed. We may never know exactly how the magnificent pyramids were built. The Riddle of the Sphinx may remain one of the worlds oldest mysteries. We are visiting the pyramids in the 21st century, thousands of years after they were built, and they will continue to endure for generations. These magnificent towering structures manage to humble us with their size, at the same time as they testify to the great human spirit that created them.

The Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt - Holy Land Tour Day 2
#GreatPyramid #Giza #Egypt
Day 2 begins with an early buffet breakfast at the hotel and after 1 hour+ of travel by bus we arrived at the Great pyramid of Giza. At the entrance, we waited for our tickets then upon entry , they checked our bag and had a hard time passing because of our tripod. They looked for our tour guide and made some negotiations and permission for us to bring our tripod inside. we had no idea that tripods are not allowed inside but in the end we were able to bring it inside and use it. The area was so wide and walking towards the big Mama pyramid is a rough road. Approaching the pyramid, there were a lot of vendors and also tourists and we had a hard time taking pictures because of the huge crowd. Explanations were made and we learned that it took 20 years ++ to build one pyramid and a total of 9 pyramids were made manually. Upon touching the pyramid, it was cold and you feel relaxed staying there even with the heat of the sun. A 15 min time for pictorials and we head back to our bus to see the panoramic view of the pyramids. We visited the baby pyramids and had a chance to take more pictures there and video. It was also this spot where my sister forgot the bag full of our money and passports. Take note all our passports. Luckily we were just near the place and so we told the driver to return to the panoramic place where we had our group picture. We ran as fast as we could and fortunately the bag was still there and was not noticed by the people because of being busy with the pictorials. Thankful enough all our important things are kept inside. We prayed and went back to our bus and head towards the Spinx but we were not able to go down because of the crowded tourists and for our safety too. Then we had our lunch at the hard rock cafe which is the real rock formation of Egypt.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

EGYPT, EXPLORING the magnificent PYRAMID OF CHEPHREN or KHAFRE in GIZA, full tour
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit the Pyramid of Khafre or of Chephren which is the second-tallest and second-largest of the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids of Giza and the tomb of the Fourth-Dynasty pharaoh Khafre (Chefren), who ruled from c. 2558 to 2532 BC.
The pyramid has a base length of 215.5 m (706 ft) and rises up to a height of 136.4 metres (448 ft). The pyramid is made of limestone blocks weighing more than 2 tons each. The slope of the pyramid rises at a 53° 13' angle, steeper than its neighbor, the Pyramid of Khufu, which has an angle of 51°50'24. The pyramid sits on bedrock 10 m (33 ft) higher than Khufu’s pyramid, which makes it appear to be taller.
The pyramid is built of horizontal courses. The stones used at the bottom are very large, but as the pyramid rises, the stones become smaller, becoming only 50 cm (20 in) thick at the apex. The courses are rough and irregular for the first half of its height but a narrow band of regular masonry is clear in the midsection of the pyramid. At the northwest corner of the pyramid, the bedrock was fashioned into steps. Casing stones cover the top third of the pyramid, but the pyramidion and part of the apex are missing.
Egypt, a country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East, dates to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments sit along the fertile Nile River Valley, including Giza's colossal Pyramids and Great Sphinx as well as Luxor's hieroglyph-lined Karnak Temple and Valley of the Kings tombs. The capital, Cairo, is home to Ottoman landmarks like Muhammad Ali Mosque and the Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities.

I took hotel at downtown area in Cairo city.from there Giza pyramids is 1 hour distance .You can take uber or cab to go there but I took local bus from Tahrir square. Bus fare is around 7-8 Egyptian pound. It is so cheap to travel in Egypt by local transport. So I saved money by using local bus.It was so nice to travel with local Egyptians.

CAIRO Day 1, The GREAT PYRAMIDS of Giza & Mall of Egypt | Together In Egypt Episode 2
***TOGETHER IN EGYPT Episode 2 (Stream at 1080p for BETTER-QUALITY video)***
Welcome to Episode 2 of my new travel vlog series: Together In Egypt. Day 1 in Cairo! I think up to that point I was on the actual plane in the air more than I was in on the ground. It was at least over 30 hours with transit from Perth to Cairo. Anyway, we wasted no time, my uncle was likeLet's go to the Pyramids while you're fresh from overseas!Hahaha, surprisingly I had energy to go to the Great Pyramids of Giza the next morning after I landed last night. GUYS! It is a site of AWESOME! A true jaw-dropping human invention/engineering. From Cairo city centre to the Pyramids is not far, you can just Uber it. My recommendation is to come in Egypt's Winter tome, less harsh sunlight and probably less tourists. It costed 160 Egyptian pounds to get in which is not too bad. If you want to get in some of the chambers inside, you have to pay extra. I was not that interested in them so I didn't go. You can actually see more of everything in the Egyptian Museum! With that said, don't plan your trip now cuz they are in the middle of renovation and moving to a new location which is near the road entry to the Pyramids. I would say give it another 6 months or a year for them to properly place all the artifacts before planning your trip. After that, we all went to Mall of Egypt which is quite near the Pyramids. It was so good to shop again! Food in Egypt is so cheap compared to Australia.
