Perpetual Motion Dubuque - 2019
“Perpetual Motion Dubuque” is a program produced by the City of Dubuque Cable TV Division that attempts to capture contemporary life in Dubuque with video shot from a camera that was constantly turning.
The program presents dozens of scenes and sounds recorded around town during all 12 months of 2019. The camera starts turning at the beginning of the program and doesn't stop until the very end. Viewers will find themselves in the middle of the Tri-State Wind Symphony during a Thursday night concert at Eagle Point Park and in the pilot house of the riverboat Twilight as she arrives in Dubuque. They’ll see festivals, farmers markets, storms, and bits of everyday life with the hope that, by the end of the program, they’ll have composite picture of what life is like in Dubuque today.
In putting together the audio track to accompany this video, Cable TV staff used more than just the rich sounds recorded with the video. Where appropriate, they used excerpts from other CityChannel Dubuque shows and some previously unaired material. In searching for things particularly Dubuque, staff discovered the poems of one-time Dubuque resident Eve Triem (rhymes with “dream”). Triem (1902 - 1992) lived in Dubuque from the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s and published her first book of poetry here in 1946. Many of her earlier poems were set in and inspired by the city, its bluffs, and the Mississippi River. Cable TV Coordinator Craig Nowack contacted members of Triem’s family to present some of her work, including poems entitled “Dubuque (I)” and “Dubuque (II)”. “Triem’s daughter told me her mother would ‘love this project and love to be celebrated,’” said Nowack. Recitations of 10 of Triem’s poems are scattered throughout the program.
In addition to CityChannel Dubuque, the City also originates a second government access channel on cable channel 80 or digital 117.3. This channel presents City information downtown weather data around the clock with audio from the NOAA weather radio station serving Dubuque.

2016 BetAmerica Daytona550 Participant #5 - Boc's Hank Jr.
The #2 ranked greyhound in the 2015 UGR Top 25 is Bluffs Run representative Boc's Hank Jr. Hank is a powerful early speedster who quite possibly may be the quickest runner in the Daytona 550 field. Bluffs Run is one of the toughest track in the United States. Hank Jr.’s early speed was routinely unmatched at the Iowa oval.
Hank utilized his box break and strong rush to capture America's richest race in October, the $500,000 Iowa Breeders Classic and in doing so defeated last year's Daytona 550 third place finisher Boc's John Luke and the highly touted, two time stakes winner Boc's Sailfish. Owner and breeder Brad Boeckenstedt was remarkably represented by half the field in the IBC final. He will returning to Daytona Beach for a second year in a row for a shot at the national championship.
The Iowa bred son of Kiowa Mon Manny began his career much like his racing style- with a flying start. After breaking his maiden last July in his career debut, he easily went up the ladder to top grade undefeated. He was confidently entered in stakes competition by just his sixth career start. Although precocious, his talent wasn't quite polished enough to win the 2014 Secretary's Choice but did make the final as one the favorites placing fourth. The Iowa-Bred champ went on to close out the year with a third in the 2014 Iowa Breeders Classic.
Hank has finished third in two Bluffs Run stakes finals in 2015 before taking the IBC crown. He just missed making a fourth final by way of a minor injury in late September during qualifying of the Bluffs Finale.
Boc's Hank Jr races out of one of the top racing operations in Iowa. The Boeckenstedt Kennel is enjoying a phenomenal year and controls a 100 win lead over the second place Bluffs Run kennel heading into the final three weeks of 2015. The kennel also finished 2014 #1 in the standings.
Brad Boeckenstedt has a leg up on the Daytona 550 field as he holds experience in traveling to Daytona last year with Boc's John Luke. Last year Boeckenstedt arrived early to school and have two official races over the surface. A similar plan might be in the works this year.
Respected dogman, Phillip Stapleton, conditions Boc's Hank Jr and the rest of the kennel in Council Bluffs. An Irishman who came to the states in 1987, Stapleton was chosen as the 2014 Bluffs trainer of the year. He is a clear cut favorite to repeat in 2015 having captured an astounding five stakes finals with four different greyhounds.
Speed is always dangerous at any level. The ability to have a clear run into the first turn is paramount to any runner's success on 550 night. If Hank nails his break he will likely be on the lead and the field will be chasing him home to the wire.

How to Use a Bitcoin ATM
One super convenient way to purchase bitcoin is with a bitcoin ATM. Here is a step-by-step guide!
Note: Regulations differ for ATMs depending on where you're based. In America, you need to provide a passport or phone number to your purchase (not a prepaid sim, but a number with a real bill) due to KYC restrictions. There are many places in the world where you can use a bitcoin ATM to buy bitcoin without and ID.

The Bridge:
The Mystic River Bascule Bridge is a bascule bridge spanning the Mystic River in Mystic, Connecticut in the United States. It carries vehicle and foot traffic directly into the tourist district of town via 33 ft-wide Main Street (U.S. Route 1).
The Strauss Heel-trunnion type bridge was designed by former Otis Elevator Company Chief Engineer Thomas Ellis Brown of New York and built in 1920 by the J. E. FitzGerald Construction Company of New London, Connecticut, according to its historical marker. Its movable span is 85 ft (26 m) wide, 218 ft (66 m) long, weighs 660 short tons (589 long tons; 599 t), and employs two 230 short tons (205 long tons; 209 t) concrete-filled counterweights. Until 1928, the bridge carried streetcars of the Groton and Stonington Street Railway.
It is operated by the Connecticut Department of Transportation and offers and opens for approximately five minutes around 2,200 times per year, carrying an average daily traffic of 11,800. Driven by two 1,400 pounds (640 kg) 40 horsepower (30 kW) direct current motors, its span is greased and inspected every 100 openings or two weeks during the winter. From May 1 to October 31 the bridge opens hourly during daylight at 40 minutes past the hour and on demand.
Mystic is a village and census-designated place (CDP) in New London County, Connecticut, in the United States. The population was 4,205 at the 2010 census.[1] Mystic has no independent government because it is not a legally recognized municipality in the state of Connecticut. Rather, Mystic is located within the towns of Groton (west of the Mystic River, and also known as West Mystic) and Stonington (east of the Mystic River).
About Mystic:
Historically, Mystic was a leading seaport of the area, and the story of Mystic's nautical connection is told at Mystic Seaport, the nation's largest maritime museum,[citation needed] which has preserved a number of sailing ships (most notably the whaleship Charles W. Morgan) and seaport buildings. The village is located on the Mystic River, which flows into Long Island Sound, providing access to the sea. The Mystic River Bascule Bridge crosses the river in the center of the village. According to the Mystic River Historical Society, the name Mystic is derived from the Pequot term missi-tuk, describing a large river whose waters are driven into waves by tides or wind.
