Christchurch's QEII Recreation and Sport Centre
On the same site as the old QEII pools, the new centre is located at the back of the grounds. The Avonside Girls' and Shirley Boys' High Schools will be in front of it and they will be used by the schools.
The new centre is expected to open in mid-2018 and will include:
Leisure pools, 25x25 metre lap pool, Learn to Swim pool, Lazy river, Water adventure playground, Spa pool, steamroom and sauna, Toddlers' pool, Fitness centre, Hydroslide, Café, Studio, and Meeting room. Ample space for car and cycle parking.
Christchurch City Council has also chosen Apollo Projects Ltd to build the new QEII Recreation and Sports Centre.

NEW ZEALAND: BILL CLINTON VISITS AUCKLAND HARBOUR

United States (U-S) President Clinton went on a walkabout around Auckland's harbour on Sunday morning - inspecting New Zealand's America's Cup yachts.
Accompanied by his daughter Chelsea and mother-in-law Dorothy Rodham boarded one yacht and tried his hand at turning the spinnaker.
Clinton is in New Zealand for the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation forum (APEC).
President Clinton had no trouble predicting the outcome of one contest in the new millennium on Sunday.
He grinned broadly and gave an affirmative nod when asked if the United States would regain the America's Cup from New Zealand in next year's sailing championship.
Clinton, his daughter Chelsea and her grandmother, Dorothy Rodham, climbed aboard 'America True' in downtown Auckland.
The boat is owned by the San Francisco Yacht Club Challenge which competed in the 1995 America's Cup campaign.
It is now used for practice by the American teams.
The American President drew cheers from crew members as he turned a spinnaker, a large crank on the boat designed to bring in and let out sails.
Clinton was taking a break from meetings with Asian-Pacific leaders to visit crew members from all five United States syndicate boats in New Zealand.
The members are here to compete with foreign counties to decide which nation will go up against New Zealand in its defense of the cup next February.
The first round of challenge races begins on October 18 and will last until late January.
As well as the five American boats, teams from Britain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, Russia and Spain will compete in this year's challenge in the Hauraki Gulf, off Auckland, New Zealand.

I don't know about you but I'm a bit of a sucker for hot springs... ???? and these ones left me warm and happy ???? hours of fun and 11 pools to make your way around before realising you can't get much more prune-y and it's time to leave. ???? Do you love hot pools too? What are some of your favourite spots (in the world!!)?? I might have to compile a hot pools bucket list.... ????
