Inside Air France - Working as Multicultural service agent
This video is dedicated to all the hard working airline ground staff who often have to resolve last minute passenger and operational issues to ensure on-time flight operation.
In this video, I follow Air France multicultural team agents to see how they conduct their daily work. How they work with other ground staff to help passengers who have language difficulties during their transit time at Paris CDG Airport.
The first half of the video is in Chinese as I follow Jenny, a Chinese speaking agent of Air France to assist passenger departing to Shanghai and arriving from Beijing. Then I follow Lofti, an Arabic speaking agent to assist passenger departing to Amman, Jordan.
Get an inside look at charles de gaulle airport terminal and the job that the airport ground staff have to do each day.
-----
Join us for a very enjoyable, fly on the wall, in depth documentary look at a day in the life of Air France’s multicultural team at terminal 2E of Charles De Gaulle airport.
Air France’s multicultural team consist of a set of highly skilled, multilingual ground staff who offer support and assistance to foreign travellers passing through Charles De Gaulle airport with a whole range of things including problems and enquiries to do with luggage, seating and last minute flight upgrades.
In this video, we meet Jenny who is responsible for assisting Chinese passengers. We see her first assisting outbound Chinese passengers at the gate, dealing with a mother and young baby and a Chinese family with two children who wish to pre-board before the main boarding session for the children’s safety. She also assists with a disabled customer and introduces us to the Chinese speaking in-flight interpreter, who will continue the same great assistance for Chinese customers on board the flight.
Next, we see Jenny helping a set of inbound Chinese customers and directing them to the right gates to catch their connecting flights, using her special iPad gadget which lets her scan customers’ boarding passes and see in an instant all the details associated with their journey.
We also meet Lofti, who speaks Arabic and deals with customers coming and going to and from the Middle East. We see him assist outbound customers off to Jordan and hear about some of the challenges particular to dealing with Middle Eastern flights, including non-24 hour border opening times.
So come with us and meet the smiling faces of Charles de Gaulle airport who work hard day and night to ensure that all of their foreign visitors receive a very warm welcome and stellar service. This video is all about giving credit to the professional ground staff of Charles de Gaulle airport and all major international airports, so let us know in the comments – what great things have ground staff at airports you have travelled through done for you? As always, thanks for watching!
Charles de Gaulle Airport is the largest international airport in France and is also the second largest airport in Europe. It is named after the President of France who ruled from 1959 to 1969 and is located a short distance North East of Paris. It is the main hub for Air France and ranks number ten on the list of the world’s busiest airports.
Terminal 2E of Charles de Gaulle Airport, featured in this video, is split in to two halls L and M and you can see the convenient little internal train within the airport that connects these two halls within this video too.
Air France has a long history of looking after its international customers. Recently, it has begun to pay special attention to its Japanese customers, integrating the culture and traditions of Japan in to its service through Japanese in-flight meals including miso soup, Kobachi starters, Dainomono and Konomono pickles and through the celebration of cherry blossom season (Hanami) by having its multicultural team dressed in traditional Japanese clothing at the boarding gates and distributing pink sweets to its customers. This celebration of Hanami is expected to continue until April 15th 2019.

How to Pick a Great Airline Seat
Watch more Flying Tips videos:
Don't get stuck in a middle seat near a bathroom on your next flight. With a little time and effort, you can be sitting pretty.
Step 1: Figure out your priorities
There is no single best seat on an airplane — all have their pros and cons — so decide what's important to you. Legroom? Peace and quiet? A quick exit? A smooth ride?
Step 2: Check out seats
Don't assume anything about a seat without checking it out. Some bulkhead seats don't offer extra legroom, some window seats are between windows and therefore offer little view, and many exit seats, while providing more legroom, are narrower than other seats.
Tip
Find out what kind of plane you'll be on and then visit seatexpert.com: or seatguru.com: Click on any seat to see its pros and cons.
Step 3: Buy a better seat
Pay a small fee to ensure you get a seat with the most legroom. Many airlines now identify their best seats on their websites and charge for them accordingly.
Step 4: Don't forget about reclining
Take reclining into account. If you like to sit back, avoid the last rows in any section. If you hate people leaning into your lap, try to snare an exit seat; the seats in front of those rows usually don't recline.
Tip
Exit row seats are often not assigned until check-in. To snag one, get to the airport early.
Step 5: Consider the pitch
Consider the pitch of the seat, which is the distance between your seat and the one in front of you. You'll find this information on airline seat websites.
Step 6: Take turbulence into account
Take turbulence into account. If you're a white-knuckle flyer, sit over the front of the wing; that's where you're least likely to feel turbulence. Avoid the back, where you'll feel every bump.
Step 7: Consider the noise
If you need peace and quiet, avoid sitting in the back, where the engines are the loudest. And steer clear of the bulkhead, where families with babies are usually seated.
Step 8: Book early
When you buy your ticket, be sure to book your specific seat, either online or by calling the airline directly.
Tip
Increase your odds of sitting beside an empty middle seat by requesting a back row where either the aisle or window seat is already booked. The middle seats in back rows fill up last.
Step 9: Check back the day before
Check back 24 hours before your flight; this is when prime seating often is released. Plus, airlines occasionally switch planes, possibly turning your chosen seat into an undesirable one!
Step 10: Join a good-seat program
If you're a frequent flyer, consider joining an airline program that guarantees a good seat for an annual fee.
Did You Know?
The average airline seat in coach is just 17.2 inches wide.
BUSY MORNING at Zurich Airport - 18 landings in 4 minutes ft. A380 A330 B747 B767 B787 & more | 4K
One of my favorite times to do plane spotting: The morning hours when one of the inbound peaks comes along with some very interesting traffic and great airline and aircraft variety.
This video features some beasts like the Singapore Airlines A380, United Airlines Boeing 767-400ER as well as the queen of the skies Boeing 747-400 of Thai Airways in Star Alliance livery. I also got the Hainan Airlines Dreamliner in front of my cam for the first time since they started operations at Zurich again.
It is the first time I tried this spotting location. It's quite difficult to film there due to obstacles and a very limited panning angle, but the perspective puts this spot on my list for the early morning landings during the summer season. I hope you enjoy!

Uganda targets tourists from the Middle East
In order to boost its tourism income, Uganda is making efforts to promote its tourism industry internationally. As part of this plan, the country hosted a special stand at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai to showcase its tourism products in the Middle East markets. “Arabian Travel Market is an important event for us and helps us reach new markets in the Middle east region,” said Edwin Muzahura, Marketing Manager of Uganda Tourism Board. “We are hoping that travellers from the Middle East will travel to Uganda in increasing numbers to take advantage of the excellent tourism infrastructure that Uganda has developed over the years – including some world-class hotels and resorts. Excellent air connectivity between the GCC countries and Uganda also augurs well for increased bi-lateral tourism and travel ties between Uganda and the Middle East,” he said.
Uganda TourismATM is the leading global event for the Middle East inbound and outbound travel industry and has played an important role in promoting new destinations amongst the high-spending tourists from the Middle East.
Following the success of the 2016 exhibition, where more than 40,000 industry professionals, including 30,000 trade visitors, agreed deals worth USD 2.5 billion, it is expected ATM 2017 will welcome over 2,600 confirmed exhibitors – with 100 exhibiting for the first time – across 65 national pavilions. The show will also extend across an additional hall, in order to meet growing demand.
“The United Arab Emirates presents Uganda with huge opportunity to tap tourist arrivals by virtue of its geographical proximity and excellent air connections”, said Irene Florence Persis Wekiya, Ambassador of Uganda to the United Arab Emirates. “Uganda is less than five hours flight time from Dubai to Entebbe. There are as many as nine airlines that provide easy connectivity and frequency to Entebbe from UAE, including flydubai, Emirates Airlines (from Dubai), Air Arabia (from Sharjah), and Etihad Airways (from Abu Dhabi). Uganda has an Embassy in the UAE in Abu Dhabi making visa processing much more convenient. Most expatriates are able to process their visa on arrival”, said Irene Wekiya.
Halal Certified
Easy availability of halal food has also attracted Muslim travellers from the Middle East in recent years. The Uganda Halal Bureau has listed nine manufacturers whose products qualify for Halal certification. According to recent studies, by 2020, more than 160 million Muslim tourists are expected to travel globally, spending upward of US$200 million.
Uganda is aiming to garner of sizeable share of this market by setting standards for hotels and other touristic facilities to be certified as ‘Halal and Muslim’ friendly destinations.
Uganda-Dubai Travel Ties
“We must allow these factors to play into our advantage and attract more tourists from Dubai to Uganda,” said Irene Florence Persis Wekiya. “Uganda’s participation at the Arabian Travel Market also aims at increasing business-to-business contacts among travel professionals as well as exchange ideas and share best practice with travel trade,” she said.
UAE is one of the the principal market for Uganda in the greater GCC market that consists of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
Commenting at the launch of the Entebbe route in 2014, flydubai CCO Hamad Obaidalla had said: “We are delighted to be flying to Entebbe, one of Africa’s leading commercial centres. With daily flights offering the choice of Economy and Business Class, we will facilitate the flow of tourism and business between Uganda and the UAE.”
Last year Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing’s (Dubai Tourism) organised the first-ever East Africa road show that also went to Kampala to promote bi-lateral travel and tourism ties between Uganda and the United Arab Emirates.
In 2016, the UAE was the fifth largest source market for Uganda globally.
----------------------------------------------------
The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) is the official Government destination market organisation with the responsibility to promote and market Uganda as the preferred tourism destination in Africa. In this UTB works with other government agencies and the private business operators in the tourism sector. UTB does not run private tours, but represents the tourism industry players and promotes all for the public benefit.

Flying from US, Your Face will be Scanned and run through a Biometric Database
Flying from US ? Your Face will be Scanned and run through a Biometric Database, NO OPT OUT !
The US government has rolled out a plan to reshape airport security around facial recognition, playing off a wealth of passport photos and visa applications.
Led by Customs and Border Protection, the plan is built around the Biometric Exit program, which will register visitors leaving the US using facial recognition. But new statements show that CBP’s plans could make facial scans necessary for US citizens as well, documenting them when they reenter the country or pass through TSA checkpoints. The result would eventually grow into an airport-wide system Customs officials call “The Biometric Pathway.”
John Wagner, deputy assistant commissioner at CBP, laid out that vision at the ConnectID conference last week. “We’re going to build this for [Biometric] Exit. We’re out of time, we have to,” Wagner told the crowd. “But why not make this available to everyone? Why not look to drive the innovation across the entire airport experience?”
The Exit program is currently verifying passengers on a flight from Atlanta to Tokyo, and is set to roll out in seven new airports over the summer. Expanding it beyond departure gates will depend on partner agencies, particularly the TSA — but there’s already a significant appetite for using facial recognition in other parts of the airport. Already a partner in the Atlanta test, Delta has shown early interest in the system, seeing it as an opportunity to improve customers’ airport experiences. According to Delta Customer Initiatives chief Christian Revilla, who also spoke at ConnectID, airport biometrics are one of the four chief priorities set by the company’s CEO for the coming year.
Reached by The Verge, Customs confirmed that it was seeking partnerships to expand the reach of the proposed system. “We are working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of biometric exit and exploring potential for inbound arrivals and other processes,” an agency representative said. “We simply want to open the dialogue to others outside of CBP.” For critics, that could make the automated risk assessments even more harmful. EPIC’s Jeremie Scott, who is currently working on a lawsuit to force Customs to release more information about the algorithm, says Customs should make the system more transparent before it makes it more powerful. “If an individual keeps getting put into a high-risk line because of AFI, they’ll have no idea why and no real recourse. It’s just being done by this algorithm in the background,” Scott told The Verge. “It poses a large risk of flagging people who shouldn’t really be in that line.” Traveling through the world's airports has never been simple. Just this week, the Trump Administration announced a new procedure in which visa applicants must provide years worth of social media history, among other hassles. But a new technology may help get passengers on their way more quickly, and maybe even reduce stress if it works properly and passengers are ok with its privacy implications. JetBlue announced a plan to use the face scanning technology in lieu of traditional boarding passes. The airline is working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in flights between Boston's Logan International Airport and Aruba's Queen Beatrix International Airport.
Here's how it works. When you're in line to board the flight, your face will be scanned and compared to the photo on your passport.
Executive vice president customer experience at JetBlue, Joanna Geraghty, recently broke down the procedure for better understanding. travel traveling usa flight flight ticket u.s. america photo biometrics bio metrics face face scan airport airport transfer 2017 american plan privacy private data database launch tech technology jet blue boarding passport visa USA Visa international secure security track tracking GPS u.s. citizen law lawyer air travel surveillance facial recognition flight insurance travel insurance holiday vacation summer holiday winter sun holidays We hope to learn how we can further reduce friction points in the airport experience, with the boarding process being one of the hardest to solve. Self-boarding eliminates boarding pass scanning and manual passport checks. Just look into the camera and you're on your way, said Geraghty.
The plan is to use this technology for all passengers, not just foreign travelers with a passport and visa, in America in the future.
JetBlue isn't the first to incorporate facial recognition technology. Delta is adding the strategy to the way it is handling bag checking. Travelers who wish to check bags will print tags at Delta kiosks before heading over to machines that match them with their passport photos using identification verification.
