My first trip to Iqaluit, to work with staff from Arctic College using Lego Serious Play at their amazing conference. Our focus - Creativity through play.

Adamie Naulaq Inookie watched as archeologists excavated one of the sod houses in Qaummaarviit Territorial Park, near Iqaluit, unearthing spears, harpoons and arrowheads.

Generations ago, those artifacts belonged to his ancestors.  

The park has 11 sod houses, one of which belonged to Naulaq Inookie's ancestors. People first settled at Qaummaarviit as early as 1200 AD and were still there until the 1800s, according to Nunavut Parks.

Iqaluit

Iqaluit (Inuktitut: ᐃᖃᓗᐃᑦ; [iqaːluit]) is the largest city and territorial capital of the Canadian territory of Nunavut. Formerly Frobisher Bay until 1987, after the name of the bay on whose shore it is sited. Iqaluit is located on the south coast of Baffin Island at the head of Frobisher Bay. As of the 2011 census the population was 6,699, an increase of 8.3 percent from the 2006 census; it has the lowest population of any capital city in Canada. Inhabitants of Iqaluit are called Iqalummiut (singular: Iqalummiuq).
