China conducts first around-the-world integrated maritime research

Xiangyanghong 01, China's elite science ship, began its journey around the world Monday on the country's first maritime research that integrates oceanic and polar research.
Under the State Oceanic Administration (SOA), the research will focus on resources, the environment and climate in its six segments, and will mainly be conducted in the southern hemisphere, according to Li Tiegang, major researcher at the SOA.
In the fourth segment, the ship will join Xuelong, China's ice breaker, in the country's 34th Antarctic mission, Li said.
The voyage is significant for China to discover new growth points in a number of sciences, as well as to increase the influence of the country in terms of oceanographic research, said Lin Shanqing, deputy director of the SOA.
Starting in east China's Qingdao, Xiangyanghong 01 will cover around 35,000 sea miles in its 260-day mission, and is scheduled to return to Qingdao on May 15, 2018.

I made my way to Lanzhou, in search of the best Chinese street food and halal Chinese muslim food. I found a ton of street food and specialty halal snacks. Lanzhou is in the northwest of China, close to the far west Xinjiang province, and is home of the Hui people, and the food is fantastic! There was a lot of Chinese street food and Islam muslim Chinese cuisine. Just like you, I love street food around the world, and I travel for food. I came here to eat!

Street food in China is something I'm always looking to find more of! So I flew to Lanzhou, China and have been trying Chinese Muslim Hui Halal Street food non stop. Best Street Food in China I've tasted! The Chinese food is so good in Lanzhou! I've eaten street food in Bejing, street food in Shanghai, street food in Chengdu, and street food in Hong Kong, all of which has been amazing, but I have to say that the chinese street food in Lanzhou has been some of the best!

When you think of China, you probably don't think of Islam and Halal food, but that's exactly what you'll find in the Northwest. I made my way for a food trip to the dusty and bustling classic Silk Road city of Lanzhou specifically to try the unique halal food of the Hui people. This is the side of China not many people see, and I came here to have an authentic travel experience through food. I found a lot of food reminiscent of countries further west, with insane amounts of lamb and beef leaving me absolutely speechless.

Truck swerves violently across China bridge

CCTV video captures the moment a truck lurches from side to side, at times only on on two wheels, after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The truck smashed into the bridge's guard rail several times before eventually toppling over on to its side, during the incident on the Zhoushan Cross-Sea Bridge in Zhejang Province, eastern China.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and no one was seriously injured, although a passenger in the truck was treated for a slight head injury.

The truck driver Song Mingtang told Chinese state broadcaster CCTV he lost control after braking hard to avoid colliding with a vehicle in front of him.

I jerked the steering wheel to the left, and then the truck wobbled heavily. So I turned the steering wheel to the right, and then to the left, before the truck turned over, he said.
