Our random trip to Qingdao | CHINA Trip | Part 2
2/2 || This second video shows some more of our days in Qingdao, China.
Tsingtao Brewery museum, Beer street, May 4th square, International Sailing Centre, the longest bridge over the water Jiaozhou bay bridge, the stunning Mount Lao (Laoshan), beautiful temples, St Michaels Cathedral together with German architecture are some of the things you can see in Qingdao.
Unfortunately we didn't manage to see everything we wanted, even spending 7 days in Qingdao, as there's waaay too much to see!!
Or maybe we were just taking our time and enjoying it too much haha..
(Germany had a colony there at some point in history, the reason why there's German influence in Qingdao)

CHINESE OBSESSED WITH BLACKS? || QINGDAO CITY || MAY FOURTH SQUARE QINGDAO || OLYMPIC SAILING ||
Hi family, we visited the Iconic May Fourth Square. This large public square is in Qingdao's central business district. It is located between the new municipal government building and Fushan Bay and is composed of Shizhengting Square, the central square and the coastal park. Named after the nationwide protest May Fourth Movement that started in Qingdao, the square is best recognized by the large May Wind sculpture near the seaside. The square is a popular tourist destination, and is bordered by the city government to the north, the sea to the south, and residential and commercial buildings on either side.
Also, during the 2008 Beijing Olympic games the sailing competition was held at this very spot.
In this video, we had some beautiful reactions from some Chinese people as they approached my family as asked for pictures with us.
Thanks for watching and kindly subscribe to see from Blessy's world.

Powerful explosion in Qingdao, Shandong kills at least 35, injures 166
A powerful blast believed to have come from a pipeline leak rocked an industrial area on the outskirts of Qingdao city. The blast killed at least 35 people and hurt 166 others. The injured have been sent to local hospitals to receive treatment. Seven of them are in critical condition. The explosion happened near a massive refinery plant in the city's Huangdao district late this morning. Witnesses said they heard two explosions. The blast sent thick black smoke billowing into the sky which could be seen for kilometers. It forced the closure of the Huangdao entrance of the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, which connects the industrial district and downtown Qingdao. The explosion also led to a temporary power outage in the nearby areas. The local environmental protection bureau has reported an oil spill in the Jiaozhou Bay. Local authorities said around 3am an oil pipeline ruptured causing a leak. The repair process led to a fire, which eventually caused the explosion.

Hua Shi Lou is called Hua Shi Lou, because within the building walls is to use TALC to architecture, but due to the hardness of talc is relatively low, so now protected with a layer of plastic film, and most special is that window. Building displays a lot of mahogany furniture, antique charm reveals it. So, stone floor and the movie also forged a close relationship, the sacred mission, and the second spring, Miao and other movies have been shot here. In addition, the door left of the wooden spiral staircase, is also very unique. Spend the four-floor stone floor, there is such a showcase where the walls on each side, there are old photos, next door to go out and have a viewing platform, sea view.

Facekini in China: How Chinese beachgoers are keeping their skin white at the beach - TomoNews
QINGDAO, CHINA — Chinese women wear a mask, known as the ‘face-kini’ when they want to maintain white complexion while swimming at the beach.
The face-kini was invented by Zhang Shifan. It first entered the market in 2004 and swiftly became a hit item at the beaches of China’s coastal city, Qingdao, Stuff.co.nz reported.
However, young children at the beach complain that the monotone face-kini looked scary so that Zhang turned to Peking Opera for inspirations to enhance her designs.
Zhang said she had never imagined that the face-kini would become so popular, selling around 30,000 pieces last year.

It was built in the Romanesque Revival style from the early 20th century. Two priests completed the original construction in 1665.
St. Sophia Church, Harbin: The St. Sophia Church in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, is the largest Eastern Orthodox Church in the Far East region. The building was first built by Russians for military use in March of 1907 in typical Byzantine style, and was later renovated into a wooden church.
Xikai Catholic Church, Tianjin: Xikai Catholic Church Built in the Roman style, the Xikai Catholic Church is located in the Heping District of Tianjin. It is a characteristic French Romanesque building and also called the “French Church” because it was first built by French bishops in 1913 with bricks imported from France.
Xujiahui Catholic Church, Shanghai: Xujiahui Catholic Church is the largest Catholic Church in Shanghai. With red walls, white stone columns and slate roofs, as well as the two cloud-kissing bell towers, it has become an important building in Shanghai. Because the church can hold 3,000 people, it has also been named the “Vatican in Shanghai”. Shigulu Catholic Church, Nanjing: Shigulu Catholic Church Shigulu Catholic Church is currently the only Romanesque-style building in Nanjing. It was first built in 1870 by French priests and has been the office of the Catholicism Patriotic Committee of Nanjing and Jiangsu Provinces since 1978. St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Qingdao: St. Michael’s Catholic Church sits atop a steep hill in Qingdao’s old urban area. Its bell tower is 55 meters high and it has been the city’s important landmark for a long time. The gorgeous church has been a popular place for young Catholic couples to hold weddings. Nanguan Catholic Church, Shenyang: Nanguan Catholic Church Erected in 1878, this gray hulk of a building barely survived the Boxer Rebellion in 1900. The existing Catholic Church was just the one rebuilt in 1912. Following Renaissance architectural style, it is a characteristically gothic building. With a height of 40 meters and an area of 1,100 square meters, the church can hold 1,500 people.
Sacred Heart Cathedral, Guangzhou: Sacred Heart Cathedral Located in central Guangzhou, Sacred Heart Cathedral is locally called “Stone House”, as all of the walls and columns are made of granite. The church is built in the European gothic style and its tower spire reaches 58.5 meters. The atmosphere can be compared to Notre Dame in Paris.
Cizhong Church, Yunnan: The Cizhong Church was built at the beginning of the 20th century with a unique fusion of French and Chinese architectural styles. The overhanging eaves and roof of the church are Chinese style, while the cross on top is Western style. The Cizhong municipal government repaired the church in 1989 and opened it to the public.
Yanjing Catholic Church: The Yanjing Catholic Church, built in 1865 by French missionaries, is the only one of its kind in Tibet and covers an area of 6,000 sq m. The church is a rare combination of Western and Tibetan architectural styles. Inside it has a typical Gothic vault and frescoes depicting Biblical scenes on the ceiling.
