Lungshan Temple of Manka (艋舺龍山寺) is one the most famous religious location in Taipei, also a very popular tourist attraction. However, there are several other temples nearby, smaller but as old as the big temple. You can easily walk to these places.

Founded in 1738, rebuilt in 1919-1924. Primary deity: 觀世音菩薩 Guanyin (East Asian bodhisattva)

Herbs Street, just at the east side of Lungshan Temple. You can by herbs and see some cats.



1:09 艋舺地藏庵
Founded in 1760; current temple mostly built in 1838. Primary deity: 地藏菩薩 Kshitigarbha (another form of East Asian bodhisattva)



1:14 剝皮寮
A historical street from early Qing dynasty, about 200 years old. Mostly used as movie and TV drama set today. Inner street closed on Monday.



1:31 艋舺青山宮
Founded in 1854, current temple built in 1856 and the entrance in 1938. Primary deity: 青山靈安尊王 (a local gurdian god from Hui'an County of Fujian Province, China)

Founded in 1787, current temple built in 1875. Primary deity: 清水祖師 Qingshui (a Chan Buddhist monk in 11th century, as local gurdian god of Anxi County of Fujian Province, China)
