The Quarrymen (Short)

The Quarrymen was shot in the now abandoned Welsh Quarry of Dinorwic on an a wet and stormy day in December. The film explores the power of a mask and how the body reacts to a new set of circumstances in an unforgiving landscape.

Wearing the mask during the filming of The Quarraymen drastically altered my perception of reality and caused a sense of claustrophobia. Movement became animalistic and minimal which in turn brought about a new way of responding to the external space that was not bound by predetermined steps or sequences.

During the editing I wanted to further the sense of an alternate reality by introducing dream like sequences and psychedelic imagery.
