Qubbet el-Hawa, Aswan Noble Tombs
The hill on the westbank of the Nile at Aswan is called ‘Qubbet el-Hawa’ (top of the winds) with a small, ruined temple at its summit.
Here lie a lot of tombs called: “the Necropolis of the Princes of Elephantine”.
Contemporaries of the last Pharaohs of the Old Kingdom, these dignitaries had their tombs dug into the rock.
The entrance was via a steep ramp which served to haul up the sarcophagus.
The two most beautiful tomb is that of Sarenput II.
The mass of granite rocks which form the First Cataract of the Nile, the hills & desert all around show an unforgettable view.

Qubbet el Hawa is a site of a group of Rock-cut tombs located on the west Bank ,in front of Aswan.
The oldest tombs located here are of high officials of the Old Kingdom. paintings in some of these tombs show fascinating details of the lives of these ancient egyptians, even some of them led trading and military expeditions south into Nubia. Other tombs located here belong to provincial governors from the Middle Kingdom, and New Kingdom officials. One of the most spectacular tombs here, that of Sarenput, dates from the 12th Dynasty.

QUBBET EL HAWA (Egipto Aswan)
