Place des Anges - Queens Gardens, Hull
As night fell across the city, angels began to appear, high up on the rooftops. They took to the air, magically suspended above the waiting crowd below.
Relive the magic by Gratte Ciel as they wowed the crowds in Queens Gardens Place des Anges – a magnificent aerial spectacle.

The CGIs were created by Pixel Workshop using the latest software as used by Hollywood studios: 3DSMax along with Corona to achieve photo-real imagery. Each set is different but quite often the purpose of the cameo shots fall into one of three well defined categories. Either they are to highlight specific features or USPs, focus on detail to convey the quality finish of the property or are an opportunity to really communicate a lifestyle impression.
Once they know the objective artists can manipulate the camera position within the 3D model to achieve the correct framing. Lifestyle impressions are by far the most fun as they give artists leeway to imagine themselves in that space and play with interesting ideas on how to show this. Unlike photography they also have no restrictions on where we can or cannot place the camera allowing us to take shots from impossible positions such as through walls or suspended mid air.
Once the virtual camera is set they need to re-adjust the lighting to be perfect for that one moment in time. The virtual lighting rigs can be manipulated in every way imaginable to achieve the desired result.

The pubs of Hull
It’s the UK City of Culture 2017, so we headed to the Humber to see what the pubs of Hull have in store.
We manage to get out and about a fair bit in our jobs, so will always endeavor to bag you some ideas.
Our February issue took us to Hull, where we visited as many pubs as possible to nab you a few ideas and see how the local businesses are kicking off its year as City of Culture.
If you’re clever enough to receive a copy of our magazine then you’ll have read the full feature already, so here’s a video to bring it to life.
