How it works - Queen Emma Bridge Curacao
The Queen Emma #PontoonBridgePunda rests atop of a set of pontoons. The final pontoon, connecting the bridge to the #Punda side, has a motor and a driver. And when a ship arrives, the entire bridge opens on a hinge, just like a door. For small ships, the bridge only needs to open a crack, but for larger vessels like oil tankers, it will swing all the way over to the Otrobanda side.

Downtown Willemstad Curacao - Trolley Train Tour
Willemstad is the capital city of Curaçao, an island in the southern Caribbean Sea that forms a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Formerly the capital of the Netherlands Antilles prior to its dissolution in 2010, it has an estimated population of 150,000. The historic centre of the city consists of four quarters: the Punda and Otrobanda, which are separated by the Sint Anna Bay, an inlet that leads into the large natural harbour called the Schottegat, as well as the Scharloo and Pietermaai Smal quarters, which are across from each other on the smaller Waaigat harbour. Willemstad is home to the Curaçao synagogue, the oldest surviving synagogue in the Americas. The city centre, with its unique architecture and harbour entry, has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ( Wikipedia )

Queen Emma Bridge: The Swinging Old Lady of Curacao
Glimpses of Curacao's Queen Emma Bridge, a Pontoon Bridge which is affectionately called The Swinging Old Lady of Curacao and the City of Willemstad, Capital of Curacao. This bridge connects Punda and Otrobanda districts of Curacao on either side of St. Anna Bay. It was built in 1888 by Leonard Burlington Smith and named after Queen Emma
(1890-1898). The defining elements of this Bridge are its 16 floating Pontoon Boats. The Swinging Old Lady swings open using two powerful ship motors, allowing ships to access the port. It can be seen in this video that this bridge has opened up and is lying parallel to the harbour to allow ships to pass through. While this bridge is lying parallel to the harbour, one can see two Ferries transporting people to either side of the bridge. Later on it can be seen that the bridge is slowly swinging back to connect the two sides of the Bay and the waiting people on the Otrobanda side are rushing to cross over to the Punda side of the bridge. 26 March, 2012.

Masted Sea Cloud 11 Exclusive Cruise Ship in Belfast
Thus has to be one of the strangest cruise ships ever to visit Belfast.
The SEA CLOUD II offers something very special – a modern cruise ship with the unique atmosphere of a romantic tall ship. Comfort, service and cuisine are at the highest level on the Sea Cloud II. In 2004, the Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising & Cruise Ships therefore gave her a five star rating
The Sea Cloud II is a large barque built as a cruise ship, and operated by Sea Cloud Cruises GmbH of Hamburg, Germany. A luxury vessel, she sails under the Maltese flag. The Roman suffix II indicates that she is the company's second ship. She is neither a sister to, nor the successor of, the Sea Cloud (ex Hussar II), but a separate vessel. The Sea Cloud II is a square-rigger with fore-mast, main-mast and mizzen-mast. The top of her main-mast is 57 m (187 ft) above deck. Her 23 sails have a total area of approximately 3,000 m2 (32,000 sq ft). She is sailed traditionally by hand, as is common, for example, on sail training ships.
