Queens Gardens, Perth, is a 3.3 hectare park located on a former brickworks and clay pit site in the eastern end of the Perth, Western Australia Central Business District (CBD).[1][2][3][4][5] The park is bounded by Hay Street to the south, Plain Street to the west, Nelson Crescent to the north and Hale Street to the east.
The site of Queen's Gardens was initially part of the commonage which was used for recreation purposes including horse racing and later as a clay pit and brickworks. Bricks were produced from the site between 1860 and 1890, and featured in many of Perth's prominent buildings constructed at that time, including the Town Hall, The Cloisters and The Barracks. At this time the place was known as the East Perth Clayfields Reserve.More info:

Australia Holiday - Perth Vacation - Vlog 4 - Kanga Market and Queens Garden
Join me on day 4 of my Australian adventure in Perth.
Today Adam and I visited Kanga market at Gloucester Park, we thought it would be in an open park space but to our surprise it was actually a racecourse, (horses). Apparently race night is every Friday night which sounds exciting so we may try and fit a visit back there before we return to the UK.
While here we also met a nice guy called Bailey, he's a very talented pianist who is trying to raise money to fulfill his dream of traveling to the UK to go to a football academy. The link to his Facebook page is below, good luck Bailey and it was nice to meet you!!
Following Kanga Market we headed back towards our hotel but on the way stopped at Queens Garden, an absolutely beautiful place, we would have stayed all day if we could, so my advice to you, if you ever go, take a picnic and at least spend a good couple of hours there. It really is a little oasis. :-)
Hope you enjoy, please leave a like and subscribe and remember you can always follow on Instagram too for daily updates.
See you in the next one. xx

AUSTRALIA: PERTH: QUEEN ELIZABETH II ENDS TOUR
Natural Sound
Australia has bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth the Second with a show of pageantry befitting the occasion.
The monarch ended her 16-day tour of the country with a formal ceremony in Perth.
Monarchists say the thousands of cheering people who lined often rainy streets for a glimpse of their Queen on Saturday was evidence that she should remain Australia's head of state.
Republicans, however, say the thousands more who did not turn up shows that she is no longer relevant.
On the last day of her tour of Australia, Queen Elizabeth the Second was treated to a memorable show of pageantry on Saturday.
Her last stop before heading home was at Perth's King's Park - named after her great-grandfather, Edward the Seventh.
Beneath the huge gum tree which she planted on her first trip to Australia in 1954, the Queen was invited to light a flame of remembrance.
But the fuse she lit fizzled out before reaching the gas-burner in the centre of the memorial's small pool, so a man with a long gas torch came forward to save the day.
It was one of the most formal events of the tour, which has brought the Queen in contact with thousands of people in the course of daily walkabouts.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard and opposition Leader Kim Beazley, who disagree about Australia becoming a republic, have united in their praise for the monarch.
And she has made it clear that her affection for Australia will remain strong, should it decide to go its own way.
As for the foreseeable future, though, the Queen will remain Australia's head of state.
And though she waved goodbye to the Australian crowds for now, she will be back next year for a Commonwealth conference.
