Spring ski touring @ The Remarkables Queenstown, New Zealand
Just when we thought winter was done and dusted mother nature brought the goods again. This footage was shot on 28th October - Labour weekend, post some pretty nasty spring weather. Lake Wakatipu was on flood warnings, and Queenstown awoke to a beautiful blue sky-ed spring day with fresh pow half way down Remarkables. We joined the hordes of cars making their way to the hills to grab one last shred before the rays of summer sun took us back to just dreaming about carving turns.

The closest Ski field from Queenstown. Only 20 minutes drive by car (you may need chains) or take the bus. The road is sealed from town to the top with an 8km climb to the resort.

Skiing In Queenstown New Zealand The Remarkables Opening Day 2014
Just a quick edit to showcase the awesome conditions we experienced on opening day of The Remarkables Ski Field for 2014. Although the season opened a little late, the wait was worth it as snow conditions have drastically improved in the last week. It was also great to see the new Curvey Basin chairlift in action and explore some of the new terrain it opens up. I'm now just looking forward to some more snow to fill in the holes & open up all of the fantastic slack country skiing that the Remarkables has to offer.
It's official the skiing in Queenstown, New Zealand is on for 2014. Get Excited!!
