England, Edinburgh and Ireland tour summary
We're taking you on a tour of England, Scotland and Ireland, a short summary of the trip you would enjoy. Click on the times to jump to each place: Intro 00:01 London 1:43 - Bath 2:44 - Cotswolds 3:37 - York 4:21 - Lake District 5:35 - Edinburgh 6:42 - Ireland intro 8:27 - summary 9:42 -to Dingle 10:08 - Dingle-Killarney 11:01 -Kinsale 12:00 - Dublin 12:12
Starting in London, best of all, then to Bath on a very easy train ride. Bath has a human scale with quiet pedestrian lanes lined with shops and galleries ideal for strolling.
York is one of the most historic cities in England. We will be showing you the great old buildings, some street entertainment – presenting you a summary with more details in other programs in our series.
Lake District is a very popular holiday destination, famous for, forests, mountains, quaint villages and lakes designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2017. Four of the top activities are exploring the towns, taking boat rides, do a little nature walking, and take a driving tour of the region to see the other nearby lakes and quaint villages.
In Scotland, Edinburgh’s Old Town has retained many of its original buildings and the 18th century New Town is also well-preserved, both still functioning as a great examples of healthy urban neighborhoods.
Ireland is a small country blessed with the rich variety of wonderful sites, most famous for its green rolling hills, history, friendly people, and Guinness. Our three main destinations will be Dingle, Galway and of course Dublin, capital of the country, a great center of culture, learning and nightlife. We'll bring you inside prehistoric stone structures in Dingle. We'll take a trip out to the Aran Islands by ferry, a remote place with a great many archaeological sites, traditional culture and spectacular sea cliffs. We will be visiting small villages along the way: Clifden, Killarney then Kinsale, a southern town with colorful buildings and an ancient stone fort. Dublin is a wonderful city, but don't make the mistake when you're visiting Ireland of only going to Dublin – there's so much more to see.

Dublin – where history and heritage thrive, and good cheer abounds. Check out the top sights and stories of the capital city and start planning a trip of your own!
When ready, browse vacation packages to Dublin:
Despite a long and sometimes tragic history of invasion and resistance, this thriving business capital has poetry, music and literature percolating through its cobblestones.
While #Dublin proudly honours its past, it is equally passionate about enjoying each and every new day. Nowhere is life celebrated more than in the city’s nearly 700 pubs.
Of all the gifts, Dublin has given to the world, perhaps the most intoxicating are its stories. Originally built for the sons of the Irish gentry, the ivy-covered stone buildings of Trinity College are home to some of the oldest remaining manuscripts in the world, including the 1000-year-old Book of Kells.
Dubliner Jonathan Swift, once said, “May you live all the days of your life.” There is no better way to define Dublin. Its passion for life is contagious, captivating and sure to stay with you after your #vacation here for the rest of your days.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Dublin, Ireland, walking tour
Ireland is best known as a land of quaint villages, friendly people and wild natural beauty but there is another side to this emerald isle -- the urban charms of Dublin.

This convivial capital is truly a fascinating place with warm, sociable people, lovely architecture, excellent museums, great pubs, varied restaurants, endless entertainment and the most popular attraction, Guinness, in the pubs and at their storehouse display.
We'll start out with three main areas south of the river Liffey: Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green and Temple bar. And then up to pedestrian shopping street, and of course out to the Guinness Storehouse.
Trinity College is one of the world’s great schools and a leading attraction, with more than half a million visitors each year. People come to see the graceful campus with its wonderful collection of historic buildings and gardens arranged in a harmonious setting spanning 35 acres.
We'll see Temple Bar, Dublin's most popular gathering spot. Temple Bar is the nightlife center of town, a great place for a stroll, perhaps have a pint and catch some traditional music.
Beer-lovers must visit the Guinness Storehouse where you can learn all about the brewing of that wonderful dark stout and enjoy some fresh samples. It is the country's most popular tourist attraction with 1.5 million annual visitors. The actual brewery is one block over, and is off-limits to visitors, but this impressive showcase presents very entertaining, high-tech multimedia displays that tell the whole story in a fun way.

Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Dublin's story is of feast and famine — from its 18th-century Golden Age to its 20th-century struggles for independence to its boomtime today. We explore the town's foreboding castle and patriotic jail, plus Trinity College with its Book of Kells. Later we party in Temple Bar, awash in Celtic music and Guinness. We side-trip to the prehistoric necropolis of Newgrange and the medieval monastery at Glendalough, deep in the scenic Wicklow Mountains. © 2002 Rick Steves' Europe

Peter Kay The tour that didn't tour tour
Dublin, Ireland and surrounding areas in 2 days, July 2017
We only had 2 days of being tourists after the wedding festivities, so we jammed in as much sightseeing as we could. In Dublin we saw Trinity College, Temple Bar, the beautiful bridges over the River Liffey, the Guinness Storehouse and Brewery, the amazing Christ Church Cathedral (which at almost 1,000 years old is one of Dublin's oldest buildings), beautiful Georgian architecture, then a short drive to the 12th century Malahide castle and the butterfly collection in the gardens . We then drove to Howth and found an unmarked and rather scary looking tunnel that may or may not lead to the Howth Head cliff walk (it did) (the way down was much easier than going back up!). We then headed to Lisnavagh House (across from Louise's mom's house) to settle up some wedding business with the people who own the cottage many of us staying in for the wedding festivities. From there we drove to Country Wicklow and the 6th century Glendalough Monastic City with it's ancient stone tower and grave stones and beautiful lake. Finally back to Dublin to Norm & Louise's for a quick shower and change, then back to Dublin to the Globe Bar for some foosball!
Thanks so much to my wonderful tour guides and hosts, the wedding couple Louise & Norm. I had always dreamed of seeing Ireland, and now that I know it is even more beautiful than I thought possible, I want to go back!

Dublin, The Republic of Ireland, The Guinness Storehouse Dublin Tour: Travel with Tani Day 2/Ep2
Whiskey, Leprechauns, and Eyes that Glow Blue through the Long Night
Day Two: Dublin, The Republic of Ireland- It’s St. Patrick’s Day, So, Let’s Raise Our Pints of Guinness
It is St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Dublin, Ireland and our second day in the city. We had already seen a lot on our first day but needed to strategize our day to see as much as possible. There were many sites to see and we had to prioritize them in order to be efficient. After much thought, we agreed that there was no better way to start our second day than with a Guinness, but only after an Irish breakfast of course.
Stop 1: The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Ireland
It was a bit windy so we bundled up and headed over to our first stop, the Guinness Storehouse at St James's Gate, Dublin 8, Ireland. If you want to pre-purchase your tickets online, make sure you chose the Dublin Storehouse. There is a new Guinness Storehouse in Maryland, so double check before you purchase to ensure you have chosen the correct location. The tickets at the counter are €18.50 and discounts are available online.
Stop 2: The Bull and Castle Restaurant
For our second stop, after the Guinness Storehouse tour, we grabbed a quick bite to eat at The Bull and Castle Restaurant which was a 2-minute walk from our hotel. The food was delicious and affordable. We ordered the Pre-theatre selection and received three courses for only €29.50.
Stop 3: Teeling Distillery
With our bellies full we took a quick stroll over to the Teeling Distillery which was only about a 10-minute walk from the restaurant. Stop three, is the new kid on the block in a neighborhood filled with veterans. Teeling is the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125years. The Teeling Distillery has a light and youthful vibe. All tastings are accompanied by a tour of the facility which is a nice touch. We learned about the history of the Teeling family in addition to the whiskey distilling process. Before we left, we had a few Irish Coffees for the road to stay warm as we headed to Temple Bar.
Stop 4: Temple Bar
Here is an informative tip for our fourth stop, Temple Bar. Temple Bar is the name for an entire area and it is not just one bar. Many times, online, people have taken their pictures in front of the same restaurant, but that is just a good shot. There are many restaurants and bars in the area and the entire area is just called Temple Bar.
We visited Dublin during St. Patrick’s and Temple Bar was more than prepared. St. Patrick’s Day is one of the biggest holidays in Ireland and the entire city was turned green. Green lights lite St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Christchurch Cathedral, and the government buildings. The restaurants and bars were very crowded. So, keep in mind if you are traveling with a large party, this could make your wait time longer when waiting for a table for meals.
As we walked from Temple bar back to our hotel, the music from the church’s bells filled the air. We were sent off with a pleasant goodnight from a St Patty’s Day leprechaun. But I knew to keep my three wishes to myself. I have heard that these magical trickster fairies could not be trusted.
